Fr: Atty Raul Lambino: The Senate or Congress, for that matter, by its nature, is a political body. Its members are highly partisan and cannot be expected to act impartially and objectively on issues that have impact on the gallery or the unsuspecting public. If the bases of the plunder case against PGMA is the Senate report, as what Ombudsman Morales wants to impress her few sympathetic listeners in GOPAC, then this clearly shows that the indictment of PGMA is a political conspiracy hatched, initiated and instigated by PNoy and his political cohorts with the cooperation and submission of his already retired appointee in the office of the Ombudsman for no other purpose or motive but for covering up the current disfunctional state of the nation.

The sad truth is that the "universal praise" came from the lips of the President himself, and there was hardly any tangible harvest worth speaking about.
By the Palace's own account, the President spend P49 million to go to Davos - with a 64 member entourage that included his personal chef. Was all this expense necessary simply so the President could play a bit role in the WEF meeting that ultimately produced no tangible results?

"If not properly addressed, the present automated election system can lead to wholesale cheating. Frm Belinda Oilvares Cunanan (www.polbits.com): In bailing out Environment Adviser Nereus Acosta, P-Noy once again ignores rule of law and separation of powers, just like in his bail-out of accused Gov Grace Padaca whom he then put beyond reach of law in Comelec. A President bailing out his subordinate would have the effect of interference in Sandigan's admin of justice.

STANDARD: JOJO ROBLES - How far has Pres Noynoy Aquino come in his supposed bid to be the "exact opposite" of his predecessor, Gloria M-Arroyo? This far: from eating a hotdog on the sidewalk of New York City and flying commercial at the beginning of his term,Aquino went to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland at a cost of P49 million with a retinue of supernumeraries that included his personal chef - all of them in a chartered flight.
Noynoy Aquino called Gloria Arroyo the 'absentee leader.' Look who's talking -- the man whose work style became an entry in the Wikipedia. Noynoying is the 'present leader' who hardly holds Cabinet and LEDAC meetings, provincial sorties, and dialogues with key sector like business, labor and farmers. Noynoying is NEVER meeting the National Security Council, and Climate Change Commission despite major issues in these areas. Noynoying is visiting disaster victims only after media badgering. Noynoying is standing up big foreign business events. Who's the absentee Noynoying leader?

In a report published Monday, the NSCB noted that such observation were based on gross domestic product (GDP) growth, influenced by external factors such as regional and global financial crises as well as the political climate at the time of each presidency.

The "educated unemployed labor force exceeded 40 percent, highlighting the problem of labor mismatch that has forced Filipinos to work overseas.

"The domestic economy of Cory and GMA both accelerated in their second year with 4.3 percent from 3.4 percent and 3.6 percent from 2.9 percent, respectively," Albert said. However, the results are different when comparing the performance of the economy under the 3 presidents that completed their terms of office, Cory Aquino, Ramos and Arroyo. "We should observe that the domestic economy performed BEST during the time of President GMA. The GDP average annualized growth rate (AAGR) hit 4.1 percent mainly driven by the services sector. Those who have been following the debates on the utilization of funds by the Senate will agree with the results of an international survey on budget transparency. In the Open Budget Survey 2012 covering 100 countries and conducted by the Washington-based International Budget Partnership, the Philippines garnered a SCORE of 48 PERCENT - A SEVEN-POINT SLIP from its score in the previous survey in 2010. That's NOT A good SIGN for the administration of DAANG MATUWID, which is TOUTING TRANSPARENCY as a come-on for investors to take a look at the country.

From out of nowhere Bam (Bum?) wants to be a senator right away just because he has a physical resemblance to Ninoy Aquino, whom he consciously tries to imitate and capitalize on. Other senatorial aspirants start more modestly. They start as mayors, governors, or congressmen. Even Ninoy himself started as councilor of his town of Concepcion, Tarlac, before running for mayor, and then on to the national arena. Bam (Bum?) has not even run as barangay captain. Now he wants us to elect him senator? What nerve, what conceit!

With the Comelec imposition, candidates will surely be all over media for free mileage for whatever they can conjure as "charges published or aired against them."

PNoy's relationship with Enrile is not much different from Cory's. Just as she owed him her presidency, PNoy owes him a Senate that cannot be accused of being intransigent, and which convicted and removed the Chief Justice on what some lawyers to this day insist was a non-impeachable offense. Although Enrile stood his ground against PNoy's Reproductive Health Act, the measure passed the Senate, and he did not pressure his congressman-son Jack (who wants to become his Senate colleague in May) to vote against it.

After three years in office, Pres Benigno Aquino III CONTINUES TO DIVIDE the nation by using his symbol of victory - the yellow ribbon, actually a poor copy of the pink HIV-AIDS ribbon. What is he trying to prove? If you don't display that yellow shirt, you may be accused of not belonging to the yellow horde. The President must realize that HE IS THE LEADER OF P94 million Filipinos, whether or not they voted for him.

There is the still unliquidated P110-BILLION fund as bared by the COA which involves the BOC and the DSWD, the missing container vans, the investigation which had been suspended for good by Congress and a lot more. The Aquino administration has been in a relentless effort to file cases against Mrs. Arroyo and her perceived allies which are meant merely as a cover-up for the lack of solid achievements in his almost 3 years in office.
