PDAF 188 will forever be remembered in history as representatives of the power of the purse, lapdogs willing to do tricks like roll, lie, bark, heel and sit at the snap of their master's finger - all lining up for the Abad's "conditional cash transfer". They all reside in the doghouse called "Gatasang Pambansa".
TRIBUNE EDITORIAL - The way the complaint is worded, it is as if the high court is a one-man court, with only Corona making all the rulings when not even the TRO was issued by him alone, nor are the high court rulings. But if such consist of betrayal of public trust and culpable violation of the Charter, then all the SC Justices - and not just Corona - are guilty of betrayal of public trust. Heck, even the congressmen are guilty of this - more so Noynoy, who is guilty of willfully violating the Constitution by refusing to obey the Constitution and the law -- all of which is what the SC says it is - being the sole interpreter of the Charter and the laws.
> DZRH cong boyet hwag mo ng bolahin ang taong bayan di naman talaga ninyo tinatanong ang mga constituents nyo. speed readers din pala ang mga kongresista lalo na kapag may pork barrel at matabang pamasko galing sa malacanang. Nakakahiya kayo! Sayang lang ang gastos sa inyo ng bayan. Dapat maabolish ang house of representatives. Kahit baboy aayaw na ikumpara sila sa mga congressmen dahil mas masiba sila sa baboy!!
Frm a UP Prof - Our govt is a govt of laws and the foundation of all laws is the Constitution. What we just witnessed in the House is how the rule of men became an instrument for destruction. WE CONDEMN THE HOUSE OF LAPDOGS. LET THE RULE OF LAW PREVAIL! HWAG NATIN HAYAAN MASIRA ANG ATING MGA INSTITUTION!
It is now in the open. What was an unimaginable plot is now a terrifying truth! that the executive and the legislative have joined forces to dictate to a co-equal institution the way justice should be dispensed and decided. This is a day of infamy in the annals of Philippines democracy. Intelligent discourse was trashed, a mob-like decision was quickly hatched in an alley and rushed to machine gun the judiciary after the territorial loot and treasures were shared. The same mafiosi principal: "what is legal is not always right." and after the bloodshed, they all went to church and prayed in self gratification for doing the country a favor.
The country is now transitioning from a democratic state into a pseudo dictatorship highlighted by a legislative lynch mob controlled by an executive department that has gone berserk and has lost all sense of propriety and rule of law. The Filipino people should see this is no longer about GMA but more of preservation of family empire that is Hacienda Luisita. Ed Malay
In the face of a looming impeachment against the Chief Justice Renato Corona, the latter should be steadfast and not bamboozled into resigning. While maintaining his decorum he must bring the threat and/or plan of impeachment before the public. The Judiciary as an entity must make an official stand against what appears to be P-Noy's continuing assault to the independence and power of the Supreme Court given to it by the constitution as well as the President's obsession to oust Corona and other justices like Justice Mariano del Castillo who had voted against the administration cases. P-Noy must be cautioned that not only is he threading on dangerous grounds he is also flirting with disaster. While Filipinos are patient and forgiving they can however be moved to rebel against an authoritarian ruler or a corrupt president as they have demonstrated in the past. We can afford a repeat of a people power. ATTY . SALVADOR PANELO.
The reason pnoy admin keeps losing cases is because they don't do their work, no research, don't find evidence, they just depend on rumors, prejudices, public opinion, they file cases haphazardly, railroad investigation, what do they expect the justices do, justices have to base all decisions on the constitution, so now they want to impeach the justices who were appointed by GMA just because they cant get the result that pnoy wants and the sad thing is ally congressmen are allowing this to happen because all they care about is their pork barrel, stinks! Magtrabaho kayo so you can prove your cases.
CJ Corona maybe unpopular but look waht the SC's correction in rehabilitation programs agenda did trust it's "Judgement Day" program, 46 persons were acquitted. This program also released on provision 5 inmates and convicted 8 others in criminal cases, all because of failure to prove them guilty beyond reasonable doubt, By Sandy Araneta on Corona Urges Coordination in Justice System, Dec 11, Phil Star
