ANC: The PSEi index falls below 6,000 to give up almost all its gains this year. It slumped 211 points or 3.4%. The stock exchange is now 19% down from its peak of 7400 hit last May 15.

ABSCBN NEWS: MANILA -- The peso has breached the P44-level against the dollar on Friday, further weakening from already 17-month-LOW finish on Thursday. The local currency opened lower on Friday at P44 per dollar, from its P43.80 close on Thursday.
