ANC: Former Pres and now REp. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will stay at the VMMC in QC until next week as the Sandiganbayan deferred it's ruling on motions on her hospital arrest. Mrs. Arroyo's lawyer, Anacleto Diaz, meanwhile told the anti-graft court that the med bulletin should not be the only basis for determining if the former pres is fit to be transferred to a regular jail. The defense had said that Arroyo has also been suffering from a spine problem. It has also cited the former president's drastic weight loss and inability to swallow as reasons for her to remain at the government hospital. The Sandiganbayan First Division suspended the hearing and rescheduled it to October 18 at 1:30 p.m. Both camps were told to present witnesses in the next hearing.
