Following a three-day closed-door meeting, the CBCP issued a pastoral letter saying there was a "LONG LITANY OF STORMS" besetting the Filipino and the nation as a whole, citing "THE CONTINUING CORRUPTION AND ABUSE OF POWER"
by government officials "or, still worse, the possible HIDING OF INFORMATION FROM THE PUBLIC."
