ANC: ex-pres. arroyo and dato arroyo file bill requiring commercial establishments to put up cctvs in their premises. the arroyos' house bill 6720 imposes a fine and a jail term for violators. they say it is imperative to secure such establishments to maintain peace and order, and protect life, liberty and property, and to promote general welfare of the public.
INQUIRER: Detained former Pres and Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo wants to make it easier for former inmates to turn over a new leaf by becoming gainfully employed when they return to the outside world. Arroyo has co-authored a bill with her son Cam Sur Rep. Diosdado Arroyo that seeks to encourage private establishments to hire former prisoners. In doing so, it would easier for freed inmates to find and keep jobs in order to ease their return to mainstream society, they said.

MLA STANDARD: Stop case vs Arroyo - Pampanga Residents of the second district of Pampanga have asked the Supreme Court to stop the trial in the Sandiganbayan against their representative, former President Gloria Arroyo, and allow her to perform her duties as member of Congress, their lawyers said on Sunday. The residents said the issue of "undue deprivation of representation" is guaranteed by law and that their representative was deprived of due process when she was arrested a day before a hearing was set on her motion questioning the Ombudsman's findings of probable cause against her.

It looks like CJ Lourdes Sereno has done it again: Firing 4 court psychologist without as much as consulting the JBC, which is no different from Sereno coming up with a falsified resolution she had wanted the SC en banc never agreed to her plan of reopening the Regional Court Administration Office in the Visayas. The heartless decision of CJ Sereno to terminate the employment of 4 psychologist employed by the JBC days before Christmas is part of a call to "cleanse" the screening process, the collegial body said yesterday.

- Based on a survey done by the Social Weather Stations, 64% of adult Filipinos expect a happy Christmas, unchanged from the same levels in 2011. The expectation of happy Christmas, in fact, declined from 69% in 2010.

ABS-CBN NEWS: Arroyo supporters ask SC to stop Sandiganbayan trial
- The constituents of former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo have asked the Supreme Court to stop her trial before the Sandiganbayan linking her to the alleged plunder of P366 million in PCSO funds. Petitioners Rico Ocampo, Eugene Paul Ponio, Marcelo Valencia and Joaquin Manalac filed a motion for intervention before the high court on Friday. They are all voters from the 2nd district of Pampanga, where Arroyo is district representative.
INQUIRER: Ousted Chief Justice Renato Corona is confident the Department of Justice (DOJ) will throw out the P150-million tax evasion case against him, his daughter and son-in-law after the panel handling their case had completed its preliminary investigation on Friday. Speaking to reporters after appearing at the DOJ for the last hearing of the tax evasion case filed against his family by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Corona described the complaint against him as "an endless series of double counting of accounts." "That kind of complaint by the BIR is for propaganda. It is not for a court of law," Corona said.
