MIRIAM DEFENSOR- SANTIAGO "Under the rule of ejusdem generis, when a general word occurs after a number a specific words, the meaning of the general word should be limited to the kind or class of thing within which the specific words fall. The Constitution provides that the impeachable offenses are:  "culpable violation of the Constitutions, treason, bribery, graft and corruption, other high crimes, or betrayal of public trust." An omission in good faith in the SALN carries a light penalty, and is even allowed to be corrected. Thus, it is not impeachable."
Delia Flores says not true about her SALN... Drilon is lying again and all the senators who just read their prepared speech by palace... did you notice Delia was their example?! Delia was interviewed on ABS CBN this am!!! Drilon stop lying and you want to be see j!!!!???@@ God help the phils!!
JOKER ARROYO: " A bill of attainder is a law passed by one House and approved by the other creating an offense where there was none. Inventing a crime out of actions, willful or not, that were innocent when they were performed. It is a legislative act of convicting an accused of acts that were not offenses in the very measures by which he is condemned through a vote instead of a trial on the basis of accusations taken as proof. Today, we are one step from violating the Constitution and passing a bill of attainder. No one can stop us if we do not stop ourselves. This is not justice, political or legal. This is certainly not law. For sure, it is not the law of the Constitution; it is only naked power as it was in 1972. I have not thought that I would see it again so brazenly performed but for what it is worth, I cast my vote, if not for innocence falsely accused, of offenses yet to exist and if not for law law and the Constitution that we were privileged to restore under Cory Aquino then because it is dangerous not to do what is right when soon we shall stand before the Lord."
ANC: Judge Franklyn Demonteverde, Presiding Judge, RTC Bacolod City- Today is a sad day for the Judiciary. Judicial independence has passed away. The men and woman in judicial robes are grieving as they cower in fear while the sword of Damocles hovers over their heads. These honorable men and women will be walking on dangerous grounds lest they step on the toes of the powers that be. While we abide by the decision of the Impeachment Court, we can only pray- God help the Judiciary!
Today is a very sad day. Watch BS Aquino and his new supreme court return hacienda luisita to his family or increase the payment to 10 billion quietly while they vilify FPGMA and her family openly, to distract the attention of the Filipino ppl. God save the Philippines.
Judges say Senate impeachment court's verdict a sad day for entire judiciary.
Justice has not prevailed today...Only politics and money decided the CJ's fate... yet this they callously call...."democratic process..." Corona's conviction signals the end of our republic. The beginning of fascism in dictatorship... the sovereignty of our nation has been attacked by treasonous cabal of Pnoy. It's our moral duty to defend our country. Pls  pass
DZIQ - RADIO INQUIRER Corona should be acquitted, say ex-Sandiganbayan justice Pamaran - Retired Sandiganbayan Justice Manuel Pumaran said Chief Justice Renato Corona should be acquitted, "because the charges against him are not serious enough as provided by the Constitution..." In an interview early Tuesday with co-anchors Susan K and Den Macaranas on Radyo Inquirer, Pamaran also explained that the Senate, acting as impeachment court, can be brought to the Supreme Court because it is "supreme in all legal issues."
Correction for Bel Cunana, it's only 12 senators, not 16, who voted against bases extension, including cory's brod in law sen butz aquino.
