Atty. Benjie Santos: To put in proper perspective statement of Atty. Raul Lambino that PGMA has strong evidence to destroy and debunk the lies that Unas peddled in his testimony, it is not necessary at this point to present this evidence. The prosecution has miserably failed to prove during the bail hearing that its evidence of the alleged guilt of PGMA as to the  charge of electoral sabotage is strong. Such inadequacy of its evidence is fatal to its opposition to the grant of bail to PGMA. It has fallen awfully short of its duty to show the required legal basis for the denial of her constitutional right to bail in this case. In view of such inability of the prosecution to discharge its bounden obligation, the PGMA defense panel has submitted its petition for bail for resolution, with the parties now required just to submit their respective memoranda.

PHILSTAR: Ampatuan's counsel Sigfried Fortun said Unas wanted to evade prosecution from the poll cheating, the maguin massacre, and also the rebellion charges for leading an uprising in the house of ex Gov. Ampatuan after the mas killing in 2009. Fortun said in Unas' sworn affidavit on Oct. 3, 2011, he indicated as a condition to his executing the affidavit that he be given immunity from criminal prosecution and be admitted to the Witness Protection Program of the government.

PHILSTAR: Arroyo was unfazed by the testimony of Unas, whose statements she described as "false and fabricated." Arroyo's lawyer Raul Lambino said Unas himself admitted before the court that the was forced t testify to save himself from prosecution, including his alleged involvement in the Maguindanao massacre.

Unas, on direct examination before the Pasay Regional Trial court, said he overhead Arroyo tell his principal, former Maguindanao Governor Andal Ampatuan Sr., to ensure the victory of the administration candidates in the 2007 elections "kahit ayusin o palitan nyo ang resulta." Arroyo legal spokesman Raul Lambino, said in a statement that, "the phrase 'kahit ayusin o palitan nyo ang resulta' is a mere afterthought just to pin the former President."
