ANC: comelec on team pnoy - PNoy has no right to come out with coalition political advertisements when the official campaign period begins. Comelec Chairman Sixto Brillantes says, Team PNoy is not a duly-registered political coalition, unlike the United Nationalist Alliance. Brillantes says, as a registered coalition, UNA has the right to political advertising, independent of the candidates' own advertisements.
TRIBUNE: CHARLIE MANALO - OUT OF LINE
With regard to Drilon's statement, I believe it's more than a condescending statement aimed at trying to make us all look stupid. It is a veiled threat telling us that if we want peace, we must go all out for all of the administration candidates. With your indulgence Mr. Senator, I believe we all want peace, including those candidates running on the opposite side of your fence. So don't go telling us that only the administration bets can deliver us the peace in Mindanao.
INQUIRER: 90-DAY SENATORIAL CAMPAIGN STARTS, UNA QUESTIONS 'DAANG MATUWID' LINE
- The political coalition assembled by Vice President Jejomar Binay delivered the first blow even before the opening bell in the May 13 senatorial election. "Habang tinatahak ang daang matuwid, marami ang nagtatanong, bakit ganun pa rin ang buhay? Bakit dumarami ang mga walang trabaho? Bakit patuloy ang pagtaas ng presyo (While treading the righteous path, many are asking, why is there growing unemployment. Why do prices continue to rise)?" the ad asks.
PHILSTAR: DICK PASCUAL - COMELEC SHOULD STOP PRETENDING IT'S READY - DEEP SHIT: Based on figures from the Commission on Elections, congressional committees, information-technology groups and election watchdogs, it is obvious that we - the Comelec and the entire nation by extension - are in deep shit. The Comelec should stop pretending it is full control and ask for help from well-meaning sectors.
PHILSTAR: BOBIT AVILA - THE PCOS MACHINES CAN NO LONGER BE TRUSTED
- We've been warning you that we have long suspected that there was a conspiracy with Comelec and Smartmatic to defraud the elections of 2010. This brings us back to the PCOS machines that were caught "in flagrante delicto" transmitting election results in Cagayan de Oro (CDO), North Cotabato and in Antipolo. Why were these cases never investigated much less solved by the Comelec?
MLA STANDARD: JOJO ROBLES - I still don't know why Lozada, WHO IS ENGAGED IN THE BUSINESS OF SELLING ELECTRONIC IPAD-LIKE GADGETS TO SCHOOLS - no prize if you know which schools - and who PLAYS GOLF AT POSH WACK-WACK, CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY HIS OWN BAIL. Like the support of AMRSP and the Brothers for the whistle-blower long after the supposedly righteous President these religious groups helped install in MalacaƱang has discarded him, it must be one of those mysteries of the faith.
ANC: FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENTS REACHED ONLY $1.2B IN JAN-NOV
Foreign investments in factories and equipment rose JUST 1 percent in the first 11 months of last year, continuing to raise DOUBT about foreign interest in the country. Net foreign direct investment reached ONLY $1.2 billion from January to November.
MLA STANDARD: ALVIN CAPINO - Through all his histrionics, it is obvious what Lozada really wants, HE WANTS THE GRAFT CASES AGAINST HIM TO BE WITHDRAWN AND HE BE GIVEN IMMUNITY FOR FUTURE GRAFT CASES.
MLA STANDARD: ALVIN CAPINO
If you look beyond the smoke and mirror being foisted by Lozada, it should be clear that the HEART OF THE ISSUE HERE ARE THE TWO COUNTS OF GRAFTS FILED BY THE OFFICE OF OMBUDSMAN Conchita Carpio-Morales against Lozada and NOT THE SECURITY THREAT AGAINST LOZADA OR THE FACT THAT THE COMPLAINTS IS IDENTIFIED WITH EX-PRESIDENT ARROYO OR THAT LOZADA HAS BEEN ABANDONED BY THE AQUINO.
TRIBUNE: NOY GROWTH HYPE FAILS TO BRING IN INVESTORS FOREIGN INVESTMENTS PLUMMETS 72% IN NOV. -
Are Pres Aquino and his economic managers cursed or have all investors decided from the country because of the anti-business policies of the Aquino administration? This is the question that any ordinary Filipino might ask the government after foreign direct investments (FDIs) CRASHED 72.1 percent in November last year to just $102 million from $366 million in November 2011 bringing the total 11-month investments figure to a paltry $1.1 BILLION, which is among THE LOWEST FOREIGN CAPITAL A COUNTRY RECEIVED IN THE REGION. While President Aquino continues to BOAST about the FOREIGN INVESTORS QUEUING TO THE COUNTRY at the first sign of trouble or an improvement in the economy of developed countries.
TRIBUNE: CJ SLAMMED BY CARPIO FOR ILLEGAL ACT
The gloves are really off this time around between the Chief Justice and the senior associate justices, as SC Sr Assoc Justice Antonio Carpio was reported in daily broadsheet Monday of accusing CJ Lourdes Sereno of violating the Constitution for hiring a "moonlighting" professor of the UP as her staff head, as well as accusing Sereno of raising false statements and a false legal basis before the court en banc.

PHILSTAR: BINAY, VALTE IN 'WORD WAR'
The election fever has started with a MalacaƱang official and the vice president of the Philippines engaging in what can be called an indirect word war. Vice President Jejomar Binay on Monday lashed at critics who accuse his party, the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA), of pretending to be supportive of the administration, saying such tirade smacks of "old and dirty politics."
