GMA News: Rank of underemployment plus jobless Pinoys swell to 10.8M - NSO survey
Some 10.828 million Filipinos of working age as of January 2013 are either jobless or want to work more hours so they could earn more. Their numbers have risen by 918,000 from 9.91 million in January 2012 as more people became underemployed, latest officials figures show. Underemployment, according to the Labor Force Survey of the NSO done last Jan and released March 15, increased to 7.934M from 7.018M.

GMA News: PHL jobless rate DIPS to 7.1% in January - NSO
- Unemployment slightly dipped in January from a year earlier, and the number of those working additional hours or holding more than just one job INCREASED, the National Statistics Office reported Friday.

ANC: Kiram Spokesperson Abraham Idjirani and COPA Chairman Pastor Boy Saycon faced the NBI in its investigation of the Sabah incident. Kiram's lawyer Leonard De Vera was also represent in the meeting which lasted for almost two hours. Kiram reiterated his denial of the conspiracy theory behind the Sabah standoff. Saycon on the other hand is considering FILING CHARGES against Sec Ricky Carandang for 'doing something un-journalistic' before the Ombudsman. Sayscon says, he has information that Carandang was THE ONE who MADE UP the conspiracy theory, and presented it to the president. Sayscon also reveals that their group wrote letters to the government of the U.S., UK, and Brunei for a third party nation to intervene in the Sabah crisis, though they yet to receive a reply.

ABS-CBN NEWS: PSEI DOWN FOR 5TH STRAIGHT DAY
The Philippine Stock Exchange index slides for a fifth straight day on concerns Philippine shares may have rallied too much, too quickly. The main index settled at 6,654.60, down 0.60%. Banks are among today's biggest losers. BDO slipped 3.29% to P88, while Metrobank dropped 2.37% to P115. Bank of the Philippine Islands is also down 3.25% to P104. Philippine Long Distance Telephone also fell 0.55% to 2,844. 

PHILSTAR: JOBLESS RATE HITS 7.1% IN JAN.
The unemployment rate in the Philippines reached 7.1 percent in JANUARY HIGHER THAN the 6.8 percent registered in OCTOBER 2012, the National Statistics Office (NSO) said today. In its Labor Force Survey, the NSO said there were 2.89 MILLION JOBLESS Filipinos in Janame as the one who lobbied for Lanto's appointment.

MANILA TIMES: 7.93-M FILIPINOS UNDEREMPLOYED IN JANUARY - Meanwhile, the number of JOBLESS FILIPINOS ALSO ROSE as the unemployment rate in January this year was at about 7.1%. It is higher that the 2.8M jobless persons in Oct 2012, which translated an unemployment rate 6.8% UNDEREMPLOYMENT at the start of the year WORSENED as the no of underemployed persons WENT UP TO some 7.93M, placing the underemployment rate at 20.9%, according to the latest Labor Force Survey of the National Statistic Office.

INQUIRER: PH needs to do much more to attract investments, says Japanese diplomat
- Despite the glowing statistics on the economy, the Philippines should push harder to improve the country's investment climate as it continues to lag behind neighbors in Asia, a Japanese diplomat said here.
