DZBB - "It's the economy, student."

OUR REQUEST TO SUMMON 6 LAWMAKERS ON THE FIRST DAY OF HEARINGS IS FOR US TO REALLY FIND WHAT HAPPENED ON DEC. 12. THIS IS CONTAINED IN OUR PRELIMINARY DEFENSE. IF THE IMPEACHMENT COMPLAINT IS DEFECTIVE IT MUST BE RESOLVED FIRST."

President Aquino's camp has been adept in manipulating media and polls to manufacture a counterfeit public opinion, and then claim it as "people's wisdom." Malacañang spokesmen even cavalierly justify former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's anomalous arrest and the assault on the Supreme Court on grounds that "public opinion" supports these moves. Opinion surveys are legitimate research tools. To mystify their findings though as "the voice of the people" and base our moral compass and our sense of justice and fairness on poll findings is utter inanity or crass populism.

PCIJ - despite the PCIJ's series of request from September 2010 to December 2011. The most recent request was sent to Iloilo Rep. Niel Tupas Jr., House justice committee chair and lead prosecutor in the Corona impeachment trial. The Office of the Ombudsman remains unmoved and says that the PCIJ has "not advanced a clear and specific legitimate reason to justify your request." The PCIJ quotes Tupas, "The new ombudsman should be the role model here in releasing SALNs. We impeached Mreci Guitierrez for not disclosing her SALN."
PCIJ - First on the PCIJ's list of public officials who continue to defy the SALN law is Conchita Carpio-Morales, a retired associate justice whom President Aquino appointed ombudsman in July 2011. Writes Mangahas: "Her office has rebuffed an omnibus request that the PCIJ filed in September 2011 to secure the SALNs of officials that many agencies has denied since 2006.

ABS-CBN NEWS: Who should cast the first stone? A Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ) report on the failure of members of the House Representatives to live up to the same standards they are imposing on Chief Justice Renato Corona, whom they impeached for failure to make public his statement of assets liabilities and networth.
ANC: ryan chua's report/pcij: not one member of the house prosecution filed their saln in 2010, and of the 188 who signed the corona impeachment case, only 3 made theirs public, but by accident, as these were accidentally included in the records of the past congress. only 2 of the 282 voluntarily submitted, mohamed pangandaman and maximo rodriguez, and neither of them signed the complaint.
