DZBB: Sen Miriam Santiago on Sunday threatened to block the confirmation of incoming DILG Sec. Manuel Roxas II and other Cabinet members who snubbed a hearing she called Friday to look into allegations of corruption in the dealings of resigned Rico Puno, a close friend of Pres Benigno Aquino III. "All the Cabinet members whom I gave invitation - since I am a member of the CA - I will veto them."
PHILSTAR: ATTY. JOSE SISON - To show therefore that his fight against graft and corruption is not a sham, that he means business even if a KKK is involved, P-Noy should ask DOJ Sec. De Lima to conduct further probe on these anomalies. Ombudsman Carpio-Morales should also conduct an inquiry so that proper charges can be filed. BIR's Kim Henares can likewise look into the tax evasion angle. If not, there is really walang pagbabago, as critics claim.
palace dobermans unusually quiet, busy or in hiding whenever a KKK is facing accusations:
- de lima NOT investigating and not offering state witness protection for any convicted gossipers or whistle blowers.
- carpio morales NOT filing any case of plunder or graft
- henares not keen in investigating possible tax evasion.
- no parallel HO Reps investigation
- no white lady, lazy postman, LRA property scans, AMLAC peso and Dollar accounts.
- no yellow media trips to search for US properties
- no harvey keh or raissa robles. EXPECT sws and pulse asia to come up with surveys "that a high percentage of the population think that usec puno is innocent."
ABS-CBN: Puno goes mum again after Senate hearing - After appearing surprisingly in the Senate hearing today, resigned Usec Rico Puno went silent again and refused to give a statement to the media. Members of media asked Puno many questions, but he opted not to say anything at all. After the hearing was adjourned, Puno went straight out of the session hall while his bodyguards prevented cameraman and photographers from getting near him. The media followed him all the way to his vehicle in an attempt to get a statement from him but all were ignored by Puno until he was able to ride his car and leave the Senate vicinity in a rush.

Noynoy was a senator once, and he certainly knows that, as a senator then opposing the Arroyo government, he was one with his group in demanding that Cabinet officials attend the probes being conducted against the then administration. If memory serves, it was Mar Roxas who challenged this executive privilege being invoked before the high court then. Yet today, as it is Noynoy and his aides who are in power and position, he too, refuses to have his executives come before the Senate for a hearing, which can only mean that Noynoy and his administration have a lot to hide from the public.
PEOPLES JOURNAL: AMID the recent brouhaha involving DILG Usec Rico Puno, Malacañang faces another controversy over possible meddling in an election protest case. Lim stated that the person, whom he did not identify, called him about the election protest of retired SC Ass Justice Dante Tiñga against Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano which is currently pending before the Comelec's First Division of which he is a member. According to Comm. Lim, the person "relayed" to him that Malacañang is averse to the retrieval from the Taguig City Hall of the ballot boxes containing the protested ballots in the 2010 mayoralty election in the city.
PEOPLE'S JOURNAL: AMID the recent brouhaha involving DILG Usec Rico Puno, Malacañang faces another controversy over possible meddling in an election protest case. This became imminent as a document entitled "Explanation of Inhibition" issued by Comelec Commissioner Robert Christian Lim dated 11 September 2012 cited as the main reason for his inhibiting himself the alleged pressure from a person "believed to be closely associated" with Malacañang.

Some governance, please Exhibit 3. Unanswered questions about the late DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo's plane crash, former Undersecretary Rico Puno's questionable acts after the crash, the President's acceptance of his resignation without any inquiry into his acts, and the Senate's threat to investigate.
Exhibit 4. Horror stories about our military purchases. The whole thing becomes a real scandal when our top defense officials say it is all right because "Hanggang 2016 lang naman tayo dito. (We're here only until 2016.)"

Some governance, please Exhibit 1. The failed Hu Jintao bilateral. Clearly, there was no prior agreement at the ministerial or official level that the two presidents would meet.
Exhibit 2. The misreported conversations with Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. This drew a sharp rebuke from Singapore, which compelled the Department of Foreign Affairs to confirm apologetically that, indeed.

MANILA TIMES: PH NGO accused of misuse of US aid funds
The US Agency for International Development (USAID) asked investigators from the Philippine justice department in August to probe the Visayan Forum Foundation (VFF) over funds the group could not account for. At least P210 million ($5 million) in aid meant to fund the group's projects have since been found to be missing, said the head of the investigating division, Rachel Marfil Angeles. "We have recommended to the DOJ the filling of charges of falsification of documents. More serious charges could follow," she said.
if pnoy drumbeaters claim to have solved unemployment, poverty and hunger - WHY DO WE HAVE 3 MILLIONS KIDS WORKING DANGEROUSLY AS PER NSO?

PHILSTAR: - Two congressmen questioned yesterday the administration's decision to give P70 billion in fresh taxpayers' subsidy next year to GOCCs. During the House plenary debates on the proposed P2-trillion 2013 national budget, Reps Carlos Padilla of N. Vizcaya and Rufus Rodriguez of CDO said most of the recipients of additional capital are losing companies that should be collapsed.
MLA STANDARD: VAL ABELGAS - Aquino also came to the defense of his shooting buddy on the alleged almost P1-B pistol contract, saying that Puno should be presumed innocent until proven otherwise. He must have forgotten that he refused to give the same presumption of innocence on impeached CJ Renato Corona, whom he personally destroyed with yet unproven accusations before, during and after the impeachment trial. It was not just Aquino who came to the defense of Puno. Lacierda, Dep Dir. Gen Emelito Sarmiento, chief of the PNP bids awards committee (BAC), and Dep Spokesperson Abigail Valte all virtually cleared Puno of any wrongdoing.

INQUIRER: ES Paquito Ochoa, In a letter he sent to the committee, said the hearing had no clearance from the full Senate and the panel had failed to send to the Palace the questions it wanted to ask to the Cabinet officials. "Whoever wrote this letter should be fired by President Aquino for being CROSS-EYED," an angry Santiago said. The letter writer, she said, had his constitutional provisions mixed up because a list of questions is required only for the congressional question hour for government officials. Her committee's hearing was in aid of legislation, she said.
