PHILSTAR: Team PNoy confident Sabah crisis WON'T AFFECT campaign - The Liberal Party-led coalition Team PNoy downplayed fears that the bloody encounter in Sabah between Malaysian security forces and armed followers of Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III would weaken the administration candidates' chances of winning, lawmakers said yesterday. --TEAM PATAY TALAGA!! KAMPANYA PA RIN NASA ISIP!!!

MANILA TIMES: BOBI TIGLAO - Malaysian spokesman Dato Aquino? "Is [Interior Sec Mar Roxas now the spokesperson for Malaysia [by claiming] that Malaysia will not talk to us?" angrily asked Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram 3rd, Kiram though should be also asking that question rather to Roxas' boss: Mr. Aquino, and I'm afraid the answer would be in the affirmative, so much so that Malaysia should confer on him one of its honorific titles that can be given to foreigners like "dato".
TRIBUNE: Noynoy courts impeach over Sabah Tack - UNA
With both his public pronouncement and actions in dealing with the Sabah issue tantamount to abandoning the country's claim to the potential rich-oil island, Pres Aquino might be courting impeachment or civil war with Filipino Muslims. This was how UNA senatorial bet Mitos Magsaysay assessed Aquino's handling of the Sabah issue.

-- OWWWS? ok lang mangampanya habang nagkakamatayan ang mga pilipinos sa sabah??? ---
is it worth it? filipino muslims are dying just because sultan's letters were lost or probably IGNORED? while our brothers are being killed in sabah, our president was more pre-occupied and busy insulting a former president in her home province?? how can his drum-beaters claim that he's on top of  the situation when filipinos are dying up to now?? what's revolting is that our commander in chief seems to value malaysian relation more than the dead bodies of our countrymen.
NINOY AQUINO: the Filipino is worth dying for. Eh ang tanong nga ay: PILIPINO BA TALAGA ANG ANAK NIYANG NAMUMUNO, SA ISIP, SA DIWA, AT SA GAWA?
INQUIRER EDITORIAL: MISHANDLED
The decision to send armed men to reoccupy an area that is being leased - a fact that Kiram and his followers point to as proof that Sabah belongs to Sulu - was unfortunate. But the Aquino administration's MISHANDLING of the situation worse. The real problem with the Palace's approach to the standoff in Lahad Datu, however, lay in its glaring LACK of sympathy for the Sultan's followers. Statements by MalacaƱang officials, however, have only reinforced the sultan's decision to stay put in Lahad Datu; President Aquino's own forceful statements have been most unfortunate.

this clueless and mentally ill-equipped president gets his energy by kicking and manhandling a sickly woman tied to a post whenever he encounter public criticism and disgust in handling an important issue like the sabah stand off. he blasphemes by insisting that his way "is the only way" even when his government bungles one issue after the other. he can't seem to get in his head that the filipinos who voted for him now realized that they made a mistake in writing his name in the ballots. as he exert his expertise in pressing buttons of the computer game "mortal kombat", he now portrayed himself as an "annoying-noynoying" leader of a nation in crisis, not noticing the ploy of making him a fool by his scheming double faced allies that will eventually step on his face to come 2016 offering an alternative to a stupid governance.

INQUIRER: MON TULFO - A JESTER IN THE PALACE
- There's a joke reportedly making the rounds among the Tausugs - people of Sulu and Tawi-Tawi who are subjects of the Sultanate of Sulu - that P-Noy has become the spokesperson of the Malaysian prime minister. Whenever the joke is told by one Tausug to another, I am told, they would laugh out loud. Not at the joke, but at the President. I mean no disrespect for the President, but he HAS TURNED HIMSELF INTO A CLOWN in the Sabah standoff. It's better for him to keep quiet and let his people at the DFA do the talking on the Sabah issue.
ABS-CBN NEWS: ROBIN PADILLA THROWS SUPPORT FOR KIRAM

PHILSTAR: DICK PASCUAL
- "What is now obvious it that the turn of events caught the Aquino administration by surprise despite a slew and progression of initiatives by the Sultanate to all parties involved in the Sabah issue, especially the Philippines and Malaysia, that even the DFA did not take these signals seriously. "So Aquino now feigning he was caught flatfooted is more of admission that he has been "NOYNOYING," translated for the educated as there is NOTHING STRATEGIC OR INTELLIGENT going on in his administration."
ABS-CBN NEWS: Arroyo has chance at bail, her lawyer says Former Pres Gloria M-Arroyo may yet post bail and campaign for reelection as Pampanga representative if the Sandiganbayan rules in her favor in bail hearings. Her lawyer, Anacleto Diaz, believes that the testimony of the prosecution's principal witness, Ma. Aleta Tolentino, is hearsay because she had no direct personal knowledge of the alleged transactions involving the PCSO funds. "We intend the challenge their evidence. The court can certainly rule not to admit evidence that we can prove to be irrelevant or hearsay," he said.
-- From the Post of Alma Anonas Carpio, associate editor of Philippine Graphic: You motherless bastard. Those people in North Borneo are Filipinos. That territory was won by dint of blood and lost to treachery. You show none of the intelligence and valor our race has been hailed for. I and ASHAMED of you Noynoy. --
MLA STANDARD: ROD KAPUNAN - The hypocrisy of this government is immeasurable. One wonders whether it is with a Filipino's sense of patriotism or insanity that we persist calling ourselves Filipinos. Maybe PNoy can claim his signing of R.A. 10368 is his crowning glory for as he would put it, the law is meant to right the wrong of the past. If such is the case, this government should declare Jose Ma. Sison a hero, and all the NPA hitmen and ABB members who died or were incarcerated "martyrs" for that is the sequential logic of what he said.
PHILSTAR: NOY URGED: CHOOSE TO BE PRESIDENT OR LP CAMPAIGNER
UNA senatorial candidate Mitos Magsaysay said yesterday that Pres Quino must choose between being "full time LP campaign manager or be the real President to the Filipino people." Magsaysay told The STAR that the clash between the Malaysian security and the supporters of Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram would have been prevented had Aquino made the right priority. INQUIRER: Pres Benigno Aquino III's order to Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram's men in Sabah to "surrender now with no conditions" is NOT ACCEPTABLE". after the palace meeting yesterday. damage control press statements are coming out one by one. realizing that a huge public disapproval of their handling of the issue is spreading like a wildfire and after 12 lives were wasted, they now are singing a different tune spicing it up with some confidentiality  refrains. media should be congratulated that they were vigilant to post govt's threats and neglect and their consistency in getting the side of the sultanate of sulu or else we could all could have drowned in a sea of lies and distorted view of the incident.
INQUIRER: SOLITA MONSOD
- his underlings must have FAILED (again) to show him ANOTHER LETTER sent by Kiram. This one is dated Oct. 15, 2012, and, I am told, it was NEITHER acknowledged nor answered. Was this letter also lost because of organizational problems or the bureaucratic maze? And, in any case, isn't an apology  called for, rather than the high-handed "I have just been made aware. Let me make clear that there was no intention to ignore your letter...."? What is to be gained by treating Kiram in such a fashion (like dirt)?
INQURIER: SOLITA MONSOD
- And, alas, they are right. A report by a non-govt organization talks about "the pathetic stance of the Phil govt on deportation showing that it cannot protect the interest of its citizen[s] much more assert itself as a sovereign nation."
INQUIRER: SOLITA MONSOD - Given that there is a standing claim, however "dormant," to Sabah, given that the Tausug from Sulu have always considered Sabah home and feel that they have as much right as Malaysians to live there, one would approach the situation with more sensitivity. But they behave in exactly the opposite manner, seemingly CONFIDENT that the Philippine government would NOT "rock the boat." And, alas, they are right.

ANC: ISSUE: MALAYSIA BORDER STANDOFF (JACEL KIRAM)
Matagal na tayong inagrabyado, so yung takot matagal na tayong takot, so ano pang kailangan nating maramdaman ngayon, we now have to make a stand and fight for what we believe is right.
INQUIRER: Gov't slammed over handling of Sabah row
- The govt's manner of handling the situation had been "severely woeful, anti-Filipino and subservient to Malaysia," said Gordon. He said the violence could have been prevented had foreign affairs officials advised the President well. "Whoever is advising the President on foreign policy matters has  done terribly wrong by our people and has put us on a slippery slope with regard to this conflict." gordon added that the Phil government may have given the wrong signal to the Malaysian government, allowing them "to THINK by our own authorities that Filipinos are EXPENDABLE."

Confusion about what was happening in Sabah began with deputy pres spokesperson Abigail Valte contradicting press reports of the police raid, saying no shots had been fired and there were no casualties. Interior Sec Roxas added to the confusion with his own report that Malaysian police fired warning shots and there were no reports of casualties. Then Roxas came back saying there had been reports of two followers of the sultan killed in the clash and that the "situation had evolved rapidly."

ANC: Election Lawyer Romulo Macalintal says the "Team Patay, Team Buhay" poster in San Sebastian cathedral, Bacolod is not covered by Comelec regulations on election campaigns.  Macalintal said  the poster is an exercise of religious freedom. "The church cannot be prevented by Comelec from putting up their huge tarpaulin of 'buhay' and 'patay' candidates even if oversized since the church is a private property. Its part of its religious freedom to disseminate its religious position and messages to its parishioners which the Comelec cannot prohibit by its  rules on campaigning," Macalintal said.
The Supreme Court under Chief Justice Renato Corona in its July 16,2011 ruling states that the country's "statutory claim over Sabah under Republic Act 5446 (adusting the country's archipelagic baselines) is retained." The Corona Court furthered that the petition questioning the validity of RA 9522 for its failure to include Ph claim over Sabah is baseless...Mabuhay ka CJ Corona for being a true patriot.
