ANC: Briones: palace asking for P2.6T budget next year when its breakdown only come to P1.3T. They are not insertions. These are more dangerous cos once approved, they become legitimate. Congress should watch out. The lumpsum item of about P1T will be handled directly or needs the approval of PNoy for us.

- Inakusahan ng Civil Society ang Malacanang na nagsingit ng P282-B. Wow, ang laki ano! P282-B na budget allocation sa ilalim ng 2013 national budget para sa mga bonus, dole out at iba pang aktibidad na hindi naman lilikha ng trabaho.
- Bakit hindi ito nakita ng mga Congressmen at mga Senador? Ang daming mata at ang daming tenga at mga bibig na nagsasalita habang dinidinig ang ating budget for 2013. Paanong nangyari na hindi nakita ito?
MANILA STANDARD: The civil society allies of Pres. Benigno Aquino III on Sunday accused the Palace of inserting some P282.4 billion in hidden and vague budget allocations for bonuses, dole and other activities that do not create employment. Social Watch Philippines and Alternative Budget Initiative demanded that the government disclose the "nitty gritty" of the P2 Trillion national budget for 2013 for the sake of transparency.
MANILA TIMES: High Court JBC clash - THE Supreme Court (SC) and the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) are headed for a clash over the council's refusal to disclose the result of the psychiatric test of the nominees for chief justice. Ass Justice Arturo Brion, one of the candidates interviewed by the JBC for the post of chief justice, asked the en banc to release the result of his psychiatric and psychological test. Brion raised the issue to the en banc after the JBC denied his request that he be provided a copy of the result of his mental test.

GMA NEWS: The International Federation of Journalists condemned the "physical intimidation" and death threats against veteran Mabalacat, Pampanga journalist Ding Cervantes.
The IFJ noted that Cervantes had recently written about the murder of Dutch missionary Willen Geertman, Hacienda Luisita land-reform-issues, and the APECO project in Aurora. Cervantes is a correspondent of broadsheet the Philippine Star and a member of the National Union of Journalists the Philippines.

STANDARD: Senate grills Comelec over P1B lot purchase - Senators slammed the Comelec Thursday for buying a P1.19 billion property in Pasay City for its new headquarters without the proper authority, in budget hearings that have already uncovered the poll body's purchase of seven king-size beds for more than P91,000 each. "There appears to be a gross violation of the Constitution on the part of the Comelec when they decided to use their P3.5 billion savings to purchase a piece of land worth P1.188 billion," said  Sen Franklin Drilon, chairman of the Sen finance committee. "Somebody can take this to the Ombudsman for technical malversation."
PHILSTAR: Confusion - The historic release of the Chief Justice's SALN, however, was marred with confusion as Sereno's office and the SC clerk of court released two different copies of her 2011 SALN to the media. In the SALN released by the SC clerk of court to a media outfit last Wednesday, Sereno had P18,029,575.51 in net worth or total assets of P19,271,778.85 and liability of P1,242,203.34 at the end of last year. But a copy she released to media at 8 p.m. last  Thursday showed net worth of P17,985,375.51 from a total assets amounting to P19,227,578.85 and liability of P1,242,203.34 or a discrepancy of P44,20
ABS-CBN: The Philippine Medical Association (PMA) is deferring to the judgment of the physicians of former Pres Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on her medical condition. PMA President Modesto Llamas, MD, speaking on Arroyo's medical condition, said "we are leaving it to her physicians." ABS-CBN News followed up on the PMA statement a week after its own members wrangled over Arroyo's health.
