- THERE was something unseemly - almost thuggish - about the way senator-judges in the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona eagerly lined up to interrogate officials from the Philippine Savings Bank Wednesday. The court's shabby treatment of the witnesses was a shameful spectacle all around, and a complete waste of time, as the leaked documents in question, by its own admission, had nothing to do with the allegations set out in Article 2 of the impeachment complaint.

Just now Atty. Tamano interviewing Cong. Umali the latter standing by his story of the little lady and categorically saying that when he received the document from the alleged little lady, "I compared the same with the documents I gave and when I found it to be of importance, I gave it to Cong. Tupaz". What documents is he saying he will compare it with if he claims it was the first time he saw the documents that he received that was attached to the subpoena as Annex A. Compare with what? He has more explaining to do aside from the little lady.
ANC: Questioned by Sen. Legarda, PSBANK manager Annabelle Tiongson admitted that Cong. Banal approached her in Jan. 31, 2012 asking for information on Corona account. Banal had with him a photocopy of the prosecution's "fake" documents. Tiongson refused to give any information. The Senate impeachment court has issued a subpoena for Cong. Banal.
