GET REAL POST: Instead of focusing his time, energy and all the resources at his disposal on fixing and cleaning up the major cities and priming the country's economy, he has been focusing his time, energy and all the resources at his disposal publicly persecuting GMA and her allies. It is a documented fact that more than six months was devoted to crucifying former Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona which, in turn, resulted in a vacant Chief Justice post that is proving to be hard to fill.

INQUIRER: SOLITA MONSOD
First, by exerting pressure on the IBP to get the disbarment case dismissed (I am told by unimpeachable sources that the members of the IBP board of governors were approached by various parties supposedly close to MalacaƱang and asked to cooperate). It is to their everlasting credit that the vote was UNANIMOUS that the disbarment cases be fully investigated (I am also apprised that the vote in the Supreme Court to refer the disbarment cases to the IBP was also UNANIMOUS, so it wasn't an Arroyo-justices-versus-Aquino-justices situation).

INQUIRER: Uphold independence in Chief Justice choice, JBC told "I am troubled to read from various news reports that there are many ongoing attempts to erode the constitutional independence of the JBC, from the last-minute proposals to change its own rules to accommodate and adjust to specific cases, to alleged efforts from some members of the exec branch to extend assistance to candidates to the shortlist," lawyer Diane Desierto said in an open letter to the JBC. "All of these actions, if true, are unprecedented and are of dubious constitutionality. They will weaken the deliberative process and impartiality intended by the 1987 Constitution for the JBC," she said.
INQUIRER: Uphold independence in Chief Justice choice, JBC told Aug 11,2012 at 7:49 am - A Filipino lawyer and faculty member of the Peking University School of Transnational Law in Shenzhen, China, has called on the JBC to uphold its constitutional independence in screening the candidates for Chief Justice.
TRIBUNE: Both NoyNoy and the JBC are destroying themselves if NoyNoy gets his way by having his allies to vote for amending the screening body's disqualification rule. If the JBC members don't have these qualities, how can they be expected to put in their list candidates with these qualities, since they do not even know what they mean? As for NoyNoy, he has already proven himself to be a first class pimp as he gets independent constitutional bodies to prostitute themselves - for him and for his appointees.
INQUIRER: An ally of Pres Benigno Aquino III's on Sat acknowledge that MalacaƱang's representative to the JBC was TRYING to accomodate  DOJ Secr Leila de Lima and two others on the short list of nominees so that they could be considered in the choice for the next Chief Justice. But Rep. Niel Tupas Jr., the House rep to the JBC and a key supported of Mr. Aquino, said the purported accomodation by Michael Frederick Musngi was "understandable" given that he represents the exec branch.
TRIBUNE: Both NoyNoy and the JBC are destroying themselves if NoyNoy gets his way by having his allies to vote for amending the screening body's disqualification rule. The JBC would be a useless and publicly disrespected body that screens nominees for posts in the judiciary. The JBC has no business screening nominees for the judgeships and the high court nominees having integrity, independence and probity.
