MANILA, Philippines- Lingayen-Dagupan Emeritus Archbishop Oscar Cruz today said President Benigno Aquino III has " becoming more authoritarian" in governing the country. Speaking before a media forum in Greenhills, San Juan City, Cruz said the President has not only brought down the  legislative, a co-equal branch of government, but  also wants to put the judiciary under his thumb. "He seems to be sure of himself.... This is not a good omen in a democracy," Cruz said.

Alcover said some of his colleagues in Congress told him that they received P1 Million each after signing  the impeachment which some did not bother to read.
"They said, they accept because they want to give Christmas presents to their constituents. They're  shameless," Alcover said.
