SWS: Majority of poor Filipinos are satisfied with their lives. respondents: selected tombstones in various cemeteries. The dead are happy because they have a house and lot. They do not need food.
TRIBUNE: Noy wants ban lifted for poll appointments.
- He refused to recognize Corona as the Chief Justice of the High Court, saying that it should have been  him who has the appointing power and that it was unconstitutional for Arroyo to be given that appointment power, amid the election ban law. But apparently, now that he sits as president, Aquino wants that same power and authority to appoint two poll commissioners despite the election ban on government appointments.
TRIBUNE: Aquino says 'no' to short cops
- Pres Aquino has vetoed an enrolled bill authored by reelectionist Sen. Greg Honasan and Cebu Rep. Pablo Garcia that seeks to repeal the height requirements for applicants to the PNP, Bureau of Fire Protection and BJMP. --- so that's the reason why he didn't appoint VP jejomar binay at DILG! ---
TRIBUNE: Aquino gov't hit over inaction on Sabah Filipino abuses claims
- The Aquino administration's apparent failure to address human rights issues involving Filipinos caught in the Sabah conflict has prompted civil society groups and concerned citizens to raise their complaints before the UN. "I believe that this group of people is taking its appeal to the UN because it feels that it cannot trust the government to act on behalf of Filipinos abused in the heat of the territorial dispute," UNA senatorial candidate Zamb Rep. Mitos Magsaysay said.
TRIBUNE: CACHO-OLIVARES - Hyped up investment grade status
- What is not being told and explained honestly by Noynoy and his finance and economic aides is the fact that all the investment grade means is that it now becomes cheaper for govt to borrow funds from international creditors. While the hype is all about investment money pouring into the Phil coffers, what is more likely meant is the hot money being invested in the stock market which can also just as easily disappear as it had appeared.
TRIBUNE: Falling for Noynoy's trap
- Reps. Ben Evardone and Miro Quimbo (except of course on issues personal to them) should be proud of having been part of the previous administration as it was the former Pres who had delivered an unprecedented economic growth for the country for 36 consecutive quarters, unparalleled in the country's history. It was also GMA who had embarked on the ambitious infrastructure projects which surpassed the combined infrastructure projects of the country's past three presidents - the late Cory Aquino, Fidel V. Ramos and Joseph "Erap" Estrada.
ABS-CBN: Lim blast Erap in campaign launch
"Eh, minsan hindi kami nagloloko sa panunungkukulan. Baka siya! Eh na-convict na siya! For plunder! Niloloko niya ang tao," Lim said. "Erap para sa mahirap? Eh sino ba yumaman? Siya. Ill-gotten wealth niya. Isoli niya," he added. Lim also said he doubts the number of attendees that the Estrada camp is boasting. "Sabi niya [Erap]. Baka naka-inom," Lim said in response to Estrada's claim.
ABS-CBN: Erap draws first blood vs Lim
"Ano ba napala natin sa nakaraang 21 years? Wala. Nganga... Bumangon sa norte si Asiong Salonga. Hindi makatiis kay Dirty Harry. Gugulpihin niya ito. Partida pa, bumunot pa siya ng baril. Puro takot takot, manduduro naman. Iyakin pa," he said. The former pres also did not let the evening pass without hitting his rival. He said Lim was too quick to call him a plunderer and an ex-convict when the mayor actually asked for his endorsement in a previous senatorial election.
MLA STANDARD: GARY OLIVAR
- The reaction was a bit muted from the Palace - and understandably so, since the ratings agency took pains to remind the reader where the credit really belongs:
"Improvements in fiscal management BEGUN UNDER PRESIDENT ARROYO have made general government debt dynamics more resilient to shocks. Strong economic growth and moderate budget deficits have brought the general government debt to GDP ration in line with the BBB median."
SWS: Majority of poor Filipinos are satisfied with their lives (ANO???)
- sobrang taas ng KURYENTE

- Ironically, what Mr. Aquino and his cohorts railed against in 2005 - the EVAT law - became the biggest factor for our country's credit upgrading by 2013. The law was so unpopular the Purisima, with his "Hyatt 10" co-traitors, former Pres Cory Aquino, The Drilon-faction of the LP, Escudero who filed a case in the SC to junk it, and Joseph Estrada's forces thought that the Arroyo govt was on the brink of falling, and all that's needed is for them to give her a shove.
They always claim the achievement of pgma whom they are persecuting that is the brand of the rascals.

- Arroyo's fiscal management in fact permitted govt to devote a huge P330B for the stimulus-packaged called the Economic Resiliency Plan. The result, as the IMF put it in its 2009 "Article IV Consultations" report: "Fiscal policy easing in 2009 was appropriate and effective... so that the Phils avoided a recession many countries experienced as a result of the global financial crisis."

it's obvious that Pnoy never appreciated this line from The Holy Bible that was meant for his "bosses": "Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, heal the sick, give water to the thirsty, visit the prisoners" - Mathew 25:35-36
