President Aquino invested the prestige of his office and his own popularity on only a few local government aspirants. The two most notable are Alfredo Lim in Manila and Ed Panlilio in Pampanga. Lim lost in a tight race to former president Joseph Estrada. Panlilio was completely creamed by Lilia Pineda. That does not add an exclamation point to the power of the President's endorsement.

TV Patrol: How accurate were pre-election surveys?

Anthony Taberna. TV Patrol, Mayo 15, 2013, Miyerkules.
and we wonder why we are now facing these automated election issues? the requirements of the law were NOT fully implemented, plain and simple. gus lagman, an IT expert who questioned smartmatic's contract, was booted out in favor of someone, dismissed pcos malfunction worries during demos, (branding them as coming from detractors), and crafted instead inanities like extended liquor ban and money withdrawal ban... and comelec Sir Chief Brillantes wants to be an ambassador? God help us!
The statement that billions of investments will be pouring in is a mere speculation. Talagang maiiwan tayong nakanganga.
ANC: taiwan announces new round of sanctions including red travel alert vs Philippines.
delayed transmission, delayed canvassing and delayed proclamation will surely breed speculation, suspicion and increased tension among supporters of incoming and outgoing officials that may result to more violence. to comelec: stop downplaying these issues as MINOR glitches.
ANC: Taiwan Updates
- Malacanang says, Pres Aquino is sending MECO Chief Amadeo Perez to personally convey his apologies for the fatal shooting by the PG Coast Guard of a Taiwanese fisherman near Batanes. Taiwan already froze applications for work permits of Filipinos, criticizing of the incident.
we thought pres bs aquino is one of the "most influential" person as per Time magazine, why are we being treated this way by taiwan? by malaysia? by china? we are making more enemies than friends and he's claiming foreign investors are now eagerly lining up to pour billions into the country. with these turn of events, maiiwan tayong naka-NGANGA!

it is undeniable that comelec, ppcrv, specific precincts encountered the ff as reported by media: source codes not tested, faulty pcos machines, unreadable cf cards, thickness of ballot papers used, relocation's of cluster precincts, missing technicians, delayed replacements of pcos and NOW SLOW or faulty transmission that delayed canvassing and proclamation. all after 3 years - and the chairman quickly dismissed these as minor glitches and that we're better off than 2010. the nerve!
ANC: The PPCRV finds the Comelec's canvassing of election returns to be moving at a slower pace compared to the 2010 presidential elections. The poll watchdog is seeking answer from the poll body, as well as Smartmatic, which is in charge of the transmission of election returns, and the supplier of the PCOS machines. The PPCRV also believes, the Comelec won't be able to announce all the 12 winners in the senatorial race tonight.
