MANILA TIMES: PCOS WOES COULD LEAD to CHEATING - CBCP The CBCP on Tues warned the Comelec that the problems of the automated elections system, if left unsolved, could lead to widespread cheating in the elections.
Catholic bishops are concerned that the reuse of the PCOS machines, which reportedly had glitches, would raise doubts on the credibility of the election results. "If not properly addressed, the present automated election system can lead to wholesale cheating. The integrity of a pillar of our democracy - the election- is at stake," the CBCP said in a pastoral statement.
