PHILSTAR: Citing lack of probable cause, Pres Gloria M-Arroyo has asked the SC to dismiss the plunder charges against her for the alleged misuse of P365.9 million in Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) funds. Through her lawyer Rodolfo Jimenez, Arroyo said the necessary elements of plunder RA 2080 have not been established in the preliminary investigation conducted by the Office of the Ombudsman. He cited 21 cases wherein the SC upheld the existence doubt in acquitting an accused in a criminal case.

Detained former Pres Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has asked the Sandiganbayan 1st Division to grant her bail over the P366-million PCSO plunder case she is facing. Lawyers of Arroyo, who now represents Pampanga's 2nd District in the lower House, claimed prosecutors have shown no evidence supporting the plunder charge filed against her. The former President's camp said the Sandiganbayan should set an amount for her bail.
ABS-CBN NEWS: GMA's office defends legislative record despite absenteeism
- Former Pres Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's spokesperson defends her legislative record despite topping the list of absentee congressmen last year. Elena B-Horn pointed out that despite her incarceration, Arroyo authored and co-authored more than 200 bills since she assumed office in 2010. Horn noted the former President continues with her legislative work as Pampanga's 2nd district representative having authored at least 29 bills and co-authored 227 others. Horn listed 5 of her bills that have already passed on 3rd and final reading at the Lower House.
