MANILA TIME: Ford to close Philippine assembly plant - US auto giant Ford said Wednesday it is to close its vehicle assembly plant in the Phils by the end of the year, with the LOSS of 360 JOBS, as part of an ongoing restructuring across Asia. The decision will leave the country WITHOUT  a motor vehicle EXPORTER. Ford Group Phil president Randy Krieger said in a statement. "This is a very difficult decision. The company studied every possible scenario and opportunity, but we could not make a strong enough business case for future manufacturing," he added.
TRIBUNE EDITORIAL: Does anyone in his admin ever get to brief Noynoy with accurate reports. The country is really looking STUPID with dept officials contradicting each other to the point where govt credibility is clearly losing out - and fast.
TRIBUNE EDITORIAL: Noynoy's govt, more specifically, is a big, big JOKE but one that doesn't make Filipinos laugh. Just what kind of govt do the Filipinos have under Noynoy Aquino that it doesn't seem to get anything right-including the so-called intel reports from several intel agencies, as well as the MalacaƱang intelligence agency - and to think that tens of billions of pesos are poured into the govt coffers for intelligence work.
MLA STANDARD: JOJO ROBLES - WHO'S IN CHARGE HERE?

Aquino has gone on record as mouthing the same lines issued by any agency that seems to have made the last declaration on any matter, whether it be the presence (or not) of the Chinese in our waters and the circumstances of Atynai's disappearance. He seems to have been as surprised as every other Filipino, in fact, to learn that BSP has lent IMF a billion dollars that he probably wished he could get his hands on for his pet projects.
MLA STANDARD: JOJO ROBLES - WHO'S IN CHARGE HERE?
Somebody has got to be in charge of all the conflicting information that is emanating from the various instrumentalities  of the administration. Unfortunately, not even Pres Noynoy Aquino himself is immune to the malaise of spewing half-baked, contradictory statements on any of these burning issues.
VERY GOOD READ TODAY Thursday June 28 - R. Tiglao's "REMEMBER AQUINO's ALL-OUT JUSTICE'?" inquirer pA13. Also in Philstar F. Pascual's p10 and B. Avila's and E. Maceda's p11. Pls pas

TRIBUNE: House Min Leader, Quezon Rep. Danilo Suarez, at the minority's weekly press briefing said it would be better if Aquino would live up to his word on what he had been advocating when he was still senator. "Thus, we urge this administration to desist from repeatedly reappointing Cabinet officials who have already been bypassed by the congressional committee on appointments," said Suarez.
ABS-CBN: PNoy urged not to reappoint bypassed officials

MANILA, Philippines - House Minority Leader Danilo Suarez us urging the Aquino administration not to reappoint Cabinet members already bypassed by the bicameral Commission on Appointments (CA). "It is true that this is a Presidential prerogative, but we will remind the President that he himself denounced this practice under the previous administration when he filed Senate bill 1719 during the 14th Congress," he said. Suarez noted that appointees fail to hurdle the CA sometimes because of conflicts with its members.
