Joker Arroyo said he was wondering why Drilon was examining the CCT program - which is intended to help the "poorest of the poor" - when he should be scrutinizing the government's $1-billion loan to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Arroyo said the IMF loan amount was almost as much the proposed CCT budget for next year. "The IMF contribution is for goodwill, it is said. In short, for show that we are grateful. STANDARD: Govt debts hits P5.147T - The outstanding debt of the national government rose P371 billion, or 7.8 percent, in May to P5.147 trillion from a year ago on higher local borrowings. The debt stock month-on-month rose 1.42 percent, or P72 billion, from 5.075 trillion in April. The government debt translates into each Filipino owing P54,758 based on a population of 94 million.
