MLA STANDARD: KIT TATAD - CLUELESS ON SABAH, MESSED UP ON JABIDAH, TOOTHLESS IN CHINA
- How can we expect any intelligent word from government on this issue when the President himself does not have the slightest notion what it is all about? How in Heaven's name did we ever get to have such a president who is clueless on Sabah, messed up on Jabidah, and toothless on China?
PHILSTAR: President Aquino has vetoed the Magna Carta for the Poor, which aims to ensure equal access to basic rights and government services for Filipinos below the poverty line. A highly placed source told STAR Aquino found objectionable certain rights that the poor could demand from the government, as provided under the proposed law.
INQUIRER: I see this in George Rabusa's admission of his involvement in the Armed Forces of the Philippines fund scam, which he exposed in 2011. He wallowed in riches; we are sure he enjoyed the perks and privileges he bought with questionable money. If people like him  go scot-free, what is there for criminals to fear? They can just turn state witness against their partners in crime, and voila, they're free! Is this the kind of justice we want?' - BRO JULIO B. ENDOZO.
INQUIRER: 'Trial by publicity' by four Aquino sisters in bad taste
- Philippine Daily Inquirer - I don't know who initiated the four "first sisters" trial by publicity against Yap. Whether  it was the TV network or the four Aquino "judges," it left a bad taste, to say the least.
- EMMA ALDAY, former religious sister.
GMA News: Hacktivists on Saturday defaced the website of President Benigno Aquino III's sister Kris Aquino, days after a controversy involving her personal life became public.
MANILA BULLETIN: 8 'Pinoys' Charged In Sabah are Malaysians - Sultanate
- The Sultanate of Sulu said those charged with terrorism and waging a war against the Malaysian king are actually Malaysian citizens. Abraham J. Idjirani, spokesman of the sultanate, said this information was given by members of the "raayat" (constituency) of the Sulu Sultante in Sabah.
MLA STANDARD: Aquino urged to stop  campaigning - Pres Aquino's critics on Sat urged him to quit campaigning for his Team PNoy and instead focus on addressing the country's problems such as the Mindanao power crisis. At least two lawmakers, Rep. Teddy CasiƱo of Bayan and Rep. Rodolfo Albano took turns in criticizing Mr. Aquino and dared him to stop being an "absentee president" and to balance his priorities, allegations that the Palace spokesman rejected.
TEDITORIAL: One reason the Sulu Sultan went ahead and sent his Royal Army across to Sabah -- and it is a real army because it actually fights and doesn't just target practice at the range -- was that he was indeed invited to the new peace talks, but when he got there, discovered there was not seat reserved for him. He looked around but no stack of monobloc chairs from which to pull out a seat.
TEDITORIAL: We have heard of a kingdom offered for a horse and a battle lost for want of a horseshoe. But a nation's honor lost for lack of a chair? The Sultan of Sulu wasn't even asking for a throne -- just a white monobloc chair.
GMA News: Rep. Manny Pacquiao will lead the UNA motorcade and grand rally in General Santos City today.
MLA STANDARD: JOJO ROBLES - Previously, OsmeƱa has initiated investigations in the Senate that were obviously sought by the administration with which he is very much identified. Thus, the Cebuano senator went to town with the so-called "bridges to nowhere" projects of the Arroyo administration and the probe of businessman Roberto Ongpin, to name just two. But the probe of Philex, started long after the fact, the penalties and the rehabilitation efforts, is truly one for the books. OsmeƱa should really stand down and shut up already (or be told to do so by the people who set him up for this probe); people are starting to become really curious about his motives.
INQUIRER: DORONILA - Timing of Pulse Asia Survey results suspicious
The timing of the release of the survey results - leads to suspicion that the survey is being used to condition the voter's minds not to blame the administration for the butchery of Filipino Muslim men is Sabah. how could Lacierda say that the Sabah fighting did not affect the President's approval ratings when was conducted before the fighting broke?
