De Lima should resign. She failed to disclose that her husband brother Napoles to the NBI yet she fired NBI deputy director in intelligence Rouel Lasala and deputy director Reynaldo Esmeralda on mere chismis. She knew her husband, Atty. Bohol, was brokering for Napoles. Yet, she never disclosed it. All she can say is "no comment." Is that "tuwid na daan?" Isn't anybody asking Pnoy to fire her? Isn't any member of congress asking her to resign?

TRIBUNE: SERGE ACCUSES NOYNOY OF PORK SCAM COVER-UP

A cover-up is what President Aquino, ordering a Palace probe on alleged pork barrel scam involving an agency directly under the Office of the President amounted to, according to an erstwhile staunch Palace ally Sen. Serge OsmeƱa III yesterday as he raised serious mistrust over Aquino's pronouncements. "I don't like that idea and I'm just suspicious of it. Why would he ask Peter to investigate Paul" Get an outsider to investigate it if he really wants," he said.
MLA STANDARD EDITORIAL: A general disconnect

Certainly, there is also a serious disconnect between what the President says his government is doing for the victims of super typhoon Yolanda, and what the survivors themselves are saying. How, after all, can we reconcile the claims of his Social Welfare secretary about the efficiency of relief operations under her watch, and REPORTS THAT FOOD AID THAT HAS BEEN ALLOWED TO ROT IN WAREHOUSES IS BEING BURIED IN DUMPS, or worse, being distributed to the survivors? The President's claim that the REPORTS ARE BEING INVESTIGATED by the Social Welfare secretary BORDER ON THE LUDICROUS, and creates yet another disconnect. IS IT RIGHT THAT THE ACCUSED TO INVESTIGATE HIS OWN CASE? THIS President seems to think so.
MLA STANDARD: FIRE TRUCKS OVERPRICED

OPPOSITION lawmakers on Monday accused President Benigno Aquino III and Local governments Secretary Manuel Roxas II of authorizing the importation of 76 overpriced fire trucks for P20.14 million each, rather than the P7 million that the administration publicized in 2012, or P6 million each for locally manufactured units. Dela Cruz vowed to summon Roxas to a Question Hour in Congress to shed light on charges that the Rosenbauer fire trucks were priced even higher than those contracted by the previous Arroyo administration.

MANILA STANDARD: EMIL JURADO - A do-nothing government

The slow response to the clamor of Yolanda survivors for more help is perhaps what best exposes this do-nothing government. Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Soliman is clueless either from local and foreign sources, has been received by government. There is no system of monitoring all the donations that poured in after Yolanda.
TRIBUNE: Lack of gov't records on aid spells 'double damage' for Yolanda victims

A "double devastation" for the "Yolanda" victims and foreign and local donors is forthcoming should the government fail to disprove its reported shoddy record-keeping of the funds, a prelate yesterday said. According to Father Oscar Florencio of the Archdiocese of Palo, the government risk losing donors if found that there is no clear record that the government has on donations. "That could be another disaster, we really owe them an accounting. I think there is a problem here. It could be another disaster," he noted.
PHILSTAR: Food aid for Yolanda victims rotting?

The country could be put in a bad light before the international donor community following reports that food aid for Super Typhoon Yolanda victims are left rotting without being distributed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), an administration lawmaker said yesterday. Valenzuela City Rep. Sherwin Gatchalian said such reports are "simply unacceptable by any standard," adding the government has a moral obligation to feed and help Yolanda victims.

Inquirer: Pnoy on plunder raps: What did I supposedly gain?

Why me?
President Aquino yesterday shrugged off plunder cases filed against him and two of his Cabinet secretaries, saying they never benefited from the pork barrel scam and the alleged misuse of the Malampaya Fund.

"In case you are right that they filed a plunder case, really, I'm just curious: What was my supposed gain here?" he asked in Filipino, noting that the crime of plunder should should involve "personal gain."

Hoy, how come your DOJ filed plunder case against PGMA just for writing an EO delineating the purpose of the use of Malampaya funds? That all. No personal gain. Also, why is she still detained when there was also no personal gain in the pcso case? The govt own star witness testified that there was no money trail to pgma. Likewise, another star witness of the govt from COA testified that all the releases have been properly liquidated and compliant with COA regulations. That the same procedure is followed now.

So please tell me why is PGMA still detained?
MLA STANDARD: JOJO ROBLES

- SCARY Aquino explain that he cannot be sued for plunder because he did not gain anything in either case. In his owns words, what he said was: "Yung element kasi ng plunder, you have to have personal gain. In the case of pork barrel and DAP funds, it's even possible to argue that AQUINO DIRECTLY BENEFITED FROM THEIR USE TO BRIBE CONGRESS INTO CONVICTING CHIEF JUSTICE RENATO CORONA.

- SOME P1 Billion of the P5.78 billion in unliquidated funds of the Agriculture Department became part of the campaign kitty for the administration's senatorial candidates in the 2013 elections, including the son of Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala, a lawyer and a former mayor said Tuesday. Sanlakas lawyer and a former Argee Guevarra, who filed plunder charges against Alcala, said the Agriculture secretary even hired Sanlakas members as ward leaders to mount a massive campaign push for the administration's Team Pnoy senatorial slate.
MANILA STANDARD: KIT TATAD

- Were Aquino an honest man, as OsmeƱa put is, he would have found this a good opportunity to acknowledge his many sins as president. Not all his mistakes have been willful or grave. But he has committed grievous crimes. His use of the PDAF and DAP to bribe Congress in order to impeach and convict a Supreme Court Chief Justice and to railroad a constitutionality infirm, blatantly anti-Catholic and thoroughly divisive Reproductive Health bill is one such crime. No president has done it before. He could go down in history as the first corruptor  of Congress. Nothing in the world can support the claim that he is an honest man or president.
MANILA STANDARD: KIT TATAD - If pinoy were an honest man

- Were Aquino an honest man, as OsmeƱa puts it, he would have ordered the release of his psychiatric records, if only to put an end to all the foolish talk about his alleged autism, and his being allegedly afflicted  with the "madness of (England's) King George III." He could have challenged his critics then to also release their own records. But he did not.
MANILA TIMES: Foreign investment pledges FALL 43%

MANILA TIMES: ERWIN TULFO

Political analyst Dindo Manhit said the problem with the President is he relies too much on his men. Unfortunately, some of  them are incompetent and unreliable in their respective job due to lack of experience or knowledge  in their assigned fields, Manhit noted. The President noticeably is poor in choosing the right person for the job. He prefers best friends and shooting and drinking buddies for a particular job over those career officers and experienced ones. Yet when these men fail on  the job, the President never removes or replaces them unless there is a public outcry for their relief.

MLA STANDARD: PNOY'S APOLOGY NIXED

Aquino offered an apology Thursday when he was being interviewed by students from Tacloban who transferred to the Hope Christian High School in Sta. Cruz, Manila, after Yolanda laid waste to vast areas of the Visayas. "The problem with the President is that we presented our demands in Malacanang but he didn't face us. Then he rejected our demands in another forum," Bautista said. "Now he is saying sorry to students who had little to do with what happened with Yolanda." Eslopor hit Aquino "for insulting the public" with an apology after four months of government failure in providing relief and rehabilitation.
If the PDAF funds were declared unconstitutional, what more of the DAP funds? Shouldn't those funds be declared unconstitutional too? Specially, since the Sol Gen admitted DAPs unconstitutional. Yet why is no one talking about it anymore? Is the yellow press knowingly avoiding publishing any news about DAP? orders from malacanang knows Abad and Pnoy will be charged in court?
MLA STANDARD: ALEJANDRO DEL ROSARIO

Aquino has the gall to warn voters not to elect someone after him who's an "ampaw." By using the work "ampaw," Aquino actually described himself. The issue of his honesty  after the PDAF and DAP disbursement to congressmen and senators remains MURKY. Did he knowingly authorize Budget Secretary Florencio Abad to release pork barrel funds knowing it was unconstitutional or did Abad just slip it through.

With the Aquino administration launching more than a dozen infrastructure projects in Metro Manila as part of its "last minutes" policy, traffic on the streets is going to be hellish and beyond any solution that Tolentino can dream up. De la Cruz told reporters CoA chairman Grace Pulido-Tan should be made to explain why up to now she is withholding the release of the pork audit report from 2010 to 2012as he noted that all Pulido-Tan had released to date was the copy of special audit report on the lawmakers' PDAF from 2007 to 2009 which contains discrepancy with the regular audit report.
