BUSINESSWORLD: Showbiz style of management Strategic Perspective Rene B. Azurin NEVER MIND that President Aquino's SONA was a kilo-metric, pat-myself-on-the-back recitation of the "accomplishments" of his administration; what is bothersome is the sense one is given that he hasn't been paying much attention to what has been going on in the country the past year. Otherwise, why did he make it sound like news that there is rampant corruption going on at such agencies as the BOC? Hadn't he been tracking this? It's almost as if his style of "management" consisted of holing up in a room in the presidential palace -- playing video games perhaps? -- until he is called upon by his handlers to read a speech or make a cameo appearance for the TV cameras. If management professors like me were asked to stick a label on this style, we could call it the "showbiz style of management."

If he bribes the congressmen to impeach a constitutional officer he does not like for the sole reason that he has been identified with the previous administration, IT IS HE who has weakened the high court's independence. Besides, even as Noynoy is being projected as incorruptible, he has already SHOWN his corrupt ways by BRIBING congressmen to do his bidding, through the release of the pork barrel.
TRIBUNE: NO ACCOUNTABILITY, NO RESPONSIBILITY
If he continues to cover up through a whitewash of investigations on allegations linking his relatives, Cabinet secretaries and allies in an extortion racket, where goes his CLAIMED honesty and incorruptibility? If a publisher is HELD RESPONSIBLE for an alleged libelous report done by one of the newspaper's reporters, WHY NOT FOR A PRESIDENT of the Republic, and a cabinet secretary for his underlings' acts? Under the Noynoy government, accountability and responsibility DO NOT EXIST - especially when it comes down to Noynoy and his relatives, allies and party mates, not to mention his infamous KKK clique. Noynoy and his "straight path" allies are nothing but a big FRAUD.

MANALO - Presidential sister Ballsy Aquino-Cruz finally broke her silence and ADMITTED she and her husband HAD BEEN to Prague, albeit, she denies they were involved in the the negotiations between the representatives of the Phil govt and Inekon, the Czech firm bidding for the MRT 3 expansion project. Why did she TIME her trip to Prague when the Phil delegation was also scheduled to make a trip there to meet with the executives of Inekon? DID SHE by chance, happen to meet the Inekon executives during one of her side trips there? And did she travel to Prague along with her first cousin, Jorge, who was intensely lobbying for the Czech firm? And where was Pete Prado in all these? Does hubby Eldon WORK in the same Prado office? Until then, she could not extricate herself from the issue.
TRIBUNE: CHARLIE
MANALO - In fact, my friend Rolly says Noynoy might have even lost his other fingers as he now only has one finger left, his index finger. This finger, Rolly says, points to everyone but to Noynoy himself. He's clueless as always on what command responsibility means. My friend says Noynoy uses his index finger only on two things: one, to squeeze the trigger in his target shooting practice at the firing range; and second, to pin blame of his failures to others. Using his three years in office pointing to his predecessor for his government's ills, Noynoy now finds his index finger getting shorter and now has started pointing it at the people whom he himself appointed to their current positions. At the end of his term in 2016, my friend says Noynoy's index finger will be totally gone and so used up that he'll end up sucking his thumb to fill that gaping mouth and complete that "innocent look." Finally, a finger pointing at himself.

Still hot on the trail of the pork-lovers, the zealots found out about computers that never reached those who were supposed to do the computing! And I broke out into an uncontrollable guffaw when the top-level official -who, by all accepted rules (were we following rule!) should have been held to answer for the missing computers-blamed it on the administration of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Caramba! (I reserve that Spanish expletive for particularly obscene situations) Three years into the Aquino administrations, and three bombastic Sonas later and we are still blaming GMA?
MLA STANDARD: JOJO ROBLES - Bam-Bam loves pork

It's now their watch any and all defects, corruption they should take responsibility. Stop looking before 2010. It was very sad that Pres Noynoy Aquino, for the first time in his SONA, did not have anything to say about the Maguindanao Massacre. As Chief Executive, it is still his duty to prosecute and cause the punishment of the perpetrators of the massacre. ABS-CBN News: Tiangco hits PNoy for rejecting Biazon's resignation. Says Biazon did the right thing
- President Benigno Aquino III failed to "walk the talk" when he refused to accept the resignation of Bureau of Customs (BOC) chief Ruffy Biazon, United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) secretary general Toby Tiangco said Tuesday.
ANC: UP political Jean Encinas-Franco also noted the "long, boring" speech that did not dig deep into issues that really mattered. For instance, there was no discussion on how he would generate jobs for Filipinos, she said. "There was not anything about job creation, rights of labor." She said Aquino reiterated too much on the conditional cash transfer program even if it can't solve poverty. "Let us be reminded that the budget for the [CCT] is from a loan from the World Bank... It's not the end all and be all to end poverty," she said.
ANC: Ernesto Pernia, economist at the University of the Philippines Diliman, stressed that Aquino's pinpointing of Augusto Syjuco, former head at the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, was not essential to the President's SONA. "I would have wanted to hear him say about the Freedom of Information bill and something on mining because he has to be clear on what he wants with mining because investors are waiting on the wings... and he could have mentioned the RH law, which has gone through a long, torturous process," he continued. "I think a SONA is essentially to report where we are now, and how we are going to proceed in the future... how to sustain the [economic] growth rate, how to improve poverty reduction," Pernia said.
ANC: Leonor Briones, analyst and professor emeritus at the University of the Philippines Diliman, stressed branding only a handful of corrupt institutions is unfair as there are other agencies known for illegal practices. MANILA TIMES: TIGLAO
So was, and still seems President Aquino's slogan.... The slogan was invented in the 2010 campaign by an advertising executive, who of course brainstormed the catchy sentence in the way she dreamed up ad copies for commercials for detergents and deodorants. Never mind whether it's realistic  or rational, just as long as it sticks in people's minds. Never mind if no country on earth actually developed just through an anti-corruption drive. After three years in power, Aquino's campaign slogan haunts him. One is even tempted to argue logically from it: "There is more poverty now; therefore, there is more corruption?"
PHILSTAR: Senator Bongbong Marcos said Aquino's speech failed to mention new policies on various sectors. He said the administration may have chosen not to use the SONA to announce these expected policies.
The Senators said he was looking for the President's foreign, environmental, monetary, and foreign direct investment policies, among others. "Para sa akin, especially, I was hoping to hear a plan on long-term public investment, but we did not hear it either because in my view, it was necessary," Marcos told reporters.
GETREALPOST: Experts say President Noynoy Aquino is part of the Philippines problem
- Foreign and local experts in their studies of government and economy have confirmed what some of us have been saying all along: that it looks like President Benigno Simeon 'BS' Aquino may be part of Philippine society's problem. In the gathering of intellectuals held recently, participants have agreed that the country's weak institutions combined with public servants who act like warlords are to blame for why the country remains one of the world's basketcases.
INQUIRER: Big Business on Sona: Exhaustive, long but short on road maps -
Philexport pres Sergio R. Ortiz-Luis noted that the address was really more of a "report of what has been happening." "Nothing much new in the speech, so I wished there'd be more of road maps on infrastructure and timetables. I was also hoping to hear more on small and medium enterprises," Ortiz-Luis explained.

ANC: Anti-SONA demonstrators break PNP's first line of defense. They're now on Don Antonio Commonwealth. The protesters vow to reach the Batasan at all costs.
INQUIRER EDITORIAL: TIME'S RUNNING OUT
We hope Mr. Aquino or his adviser are not lulled into thinking that because he remains personally popular, the public is not growing frustrated. As the turmoil sweeping through economically vibrant economies like Brazil and Turkey has shown, public impatience in the other side of high public expectations. And one mishandled issue can turn IMPATIENCE INTO FURY.
INQUIRER: 'DAANG MATUWID' FACES SERIOUS TEST'
As he delivers his fourth State of the Nation Address on Monday, Pres Aquino's "daang matuwid" (straight path) policy against corruption is under close scrutiny in the wake of allegations that transportation officials tried to extort $30 million from a Czech train supplier and that bogus NGOs funneled P10 billion in pork barrel into ghost projects.
INTERAKSYON TV 5: With P120B for 6 years, CCT barely dented poverty levels, says NGO alliance - According to Marivic Raquiza, co-convener of Social Watch Philippines, "since 2008, the budget of Pantawid Pamilya has increased dramatically every year without the benefit of a clear evaluation of the program. Today, that evaluation exist and it shows that on the poverty front, CCT beneficiaries are no better off than non-beneficiaries."
MANILA TIMES: '3 YEARS OF EMPTY PROMISES' -
Prof. Bobby Tuazon, CenPEG director for policy studies - "Three years of empty promises nuanced by vacillations and inaction only point to an "ampaw presidency" - deceptively solid outside but only hot air inside," Tuazon said. "In the end, Aquino's vaunted 'Kayo ang boss ko' [the masses are my boss] shibboleth is hypocritical and meaningless. Such deceptive phrase has been repeated over and over again a la Goebbels the motive being to hide the truth. And the truth is that Aquino's real bosses are his fellow political oligarchs, big business, and the Obama administration."
MLA STANDARD: KIT TATAD - A BUNGLED PRESIDENCY
Prado's reported presence in the company of Balssy and Eldon Cruz when the alleged extortion was reportedly attempted may have been completely coincidental. But his previous involvement in the procurement of Czech trains for the first LRT (now MRT) projects and his presence in the conversation when the $30-million facilitation fee was reported to have been proposed raises questions that are not easy to ask or answer. PRADO IS BELIEVED TO BE A BUSINESS PARTNER OF MR. CRUZ.
MLA STANDARD: IBON WARNS OF 'DEEP SIGNS OF REGRESSION'
The research and analysis outfit warned that there were "deep signs of a regression" in the national condition that "a recycled Aquino agenda" for the last half of its term will not remedy. The Aquino administration was serving "one nation in two worlds," said Ibon Executive Director Sonny Africa, pointing to the widening gap between the rich and the poor. Citing official government records, Africa said the country's JOBS AND POVERTY CRISIS HAS WORSENED UNDER THE AQUINO ADMINISTRATION.
ANC: Bishops tell PNoy to make poor Filipinos feel the so-called economic gains. Ex-Budget Sec. Ben Diokno believes economic momentum can't be sustained and that govt must solve unemployment; while the National Union of Lawyers of the Phils. says PNoy failed in judicial reforms and in addressing human rights problems in the country.
ANC: CENPEG gives PNoy failing grade in handling economy, says many Filipinos still do not feel PH economic gains. "Dumami pa rin ang unemployed, underemployed, at mga mahihirap," CENPEG's Ben Lim said. The group also hits PNoy's national security policy, particularly his response to the South China Sea dispute.
ANC: Activists gearing up for anti-SONA rallies Monday. Militant groups day three years into office Aquino fell short in fighting poverty and corruption.

PHILSTAR: The volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) called on the Czech ambassador and Inekon executives to come out in the open and file a complaint against those involved in the alleged shakedown attempt. "Ti's corruption season, it's payback time," VACC founding chairman and president Dante Jimenez told The STAR. "I appeal to the contractor to expose the documents and lay everything out in the open," he said.
INQUIRER: CATHOLIC BISHOPS: 'DO MORE FOR THE POOR' - CULTURE OF CORRUPTION - "He should address the culture of corruption, but I wonder if he will consider that," former Caloocan Bishop Deogracias Iñigues said. Iloilo Archbishop Angel Lagdameo said Mr. Aquino should announce how he intended to reform the graft-ridden pork barrel. "The pork barrel should be used for the common good. There must be honestly and transparency in reporting its use," Lagdameo said.
TRIBUNE: The New York-based Human Rights Watch said in a statement that Aquino should use the Sona to flesh out his commitments by outlining specific measures to tackle ongoing human rights problems.
Brad Adams, HRW Asia director, said Aquino should put on top of his Sona list the holding for accountability abusive members of state security forces.
NINEZ CACHO OLIVARES:
Now, even before a probe Abaya says he will conduct, he has already vouched for the integrity of his executives.
What else can be expected of the result of the probe, when Lacierda, who speaks for the president, already states that there is no ban on Inekon, and who absolves Roxas, while Abaya absolves his executives?
One thing is very clear: Here is yet another proof of Malacañang's crooked path.
MLA STANDARD: PNoy dared: Give up your 'pork' too
"Malacañang should take the lead by removing its discretionary lump-sum funds," said Ifugao Rep. Teddy Brawner Baguilat Jr., a member of Mr. Aquino's Liberal Party. Reacting to a suggestion from presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda that lawmakers voluntarily give up their pork, Baguilat said that would only happen if the Palace moves first.
MLA STANDARD: EMIL JURADO
A high growth rate remains meaningless to the greater bulk of our people. Note that manufacturing and agriculture indicators continue to remain low. These are economic sectors that could fuel employment. The Pres will also deny that the gap between the rich and the poor is widening. The World Bank also found that the Phils remains a laggard in terms of foreign investments. Pres Aquino is fond of saying that there's no clear and present danger in not amending the 1987 charter framed during his late mother's incumbency since investors will come anyway. BUT WHERE ARE THEY?

Dzmm/Dzrh/Dzbb script:

The Test of PNoys dedication to his promised TUWID NA DAAN

The Test of PNoys dedication to his promised TUWID NA DAAN and to prove to PNOYs believers that like Caesar's wife, the kamag anaks must be above suspicion, PNOY must tell these relathieves to answer the simple minimum questions: is there Truth to the news items about the KAMAG ANAK INC visit to Czech Republic; the visit by Kamag anak to the Czech Company Inekon; the vist of Kamag anak to Czech Amb Josef RYCHTAR; the participation of Kamag anak train expert PETE PRADO (who claims to be the next DOTC Secretary because of the poor performance of Incumbent DOTC Sec Abaya with his worst airport in the universe, Ninoy Aquino Int'l Airport); what did the Kamag anaks, Steve Psinakis and Pete Prado do in the Czech Republic??
"WALANG KAMAG ANAK, WALANG KAIBIGAN, WALANG PABOR KEH SINU MAN".
