RADIO INQUIRER: A group of youth shouting "pekeng kalayaan" (fake independence) disrupted the speech of DOTC Secretary Mar Roxas during Independence Day celebration in Kawit, Cavite, Kawit Police Chief Inspector Mamerto Malubay said the unidentified group consisted of seven to eight students who went to the rites without streamers, mixed in with the crowd and started shouting their chant. Malubay said the police did just asked the members of the group to peacefully leave the area.

MANILA TIMES: Aquino trust, approval ratings hit record lows
-For the first time since he assumed poor in 2010, the trust and approval ratings of President Benigno Aquino 3rd plunged to their lowest, according to surveys conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) and Pulse Asia. The SWS said that public satisfaction with the President dropped by seven points to +42 (63% satisfied minus the 21% dissatisfied) from the +49 (68 % satisfied, 19% dissatisfied) recorded in the March survey. "The second quarter result was a record low for Mr. Aquino, who recieved an "excellent' +64 net rating in November 2010," the poll firm said.
