Just two days before the start of summer, the business sector prodded Malacañang to invoke the "power crisis" provision of the Epira to prevent an expected worsening of the electricity shortage in Mindanao. Jose S. Alejandro, chairman of the energy committee of the PCCI, said the hydro power-dependent region would surely experience anew less capacity during the summer months, worsening the already problematic power situation in Mindanao.
