ANC: Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III remains optimistic that the standoff in Sabah will end peacefully. Mentioning reports from his brother, who is in Sabah, Kiram said 6 heavily armed soldiers from the Malaysian Army visited the group this afternoon. There was no hostility and the soldiers didn't say anything to the almost three hundred of their men who have been holed up in a town in Sabah for almost two weeks now. Jamalul Kiram said, if given the opportunity, they would agree to being granted Malaysian citizenship if it means they would be allowed to stay in Sabah. "Of course I would like to live in a Muslim country."
