According to Bishop Broderick Pabillo, the true essence of Edsa people power 1 has now been covered by "vested interest" of opportunists politicians and government officials. Edsa 1 was a result of lack of transparency and corruption but still these two are still rampant in the Aquino administration, he noted. Bagaforo, for his part, said Edsa 1 is now just remembering the history. "The essence is no longer there," he told Radio Veritas in an interview.
