STANDARD: EXPLAIN ARROYO CASE, STATE LAWYERS TOLD
The SC has sought government's reply to the bid of constituents of former Pres, now Pamp Rep. Gloria M-Arroyo to stop her trial before the Sandiganbayan in the P365.9-million plunder case involving the alleged misuse of PCSO funds. During its en banc session Tuesday, the high court justices ordered the OSG to comment on the motion to intervene filed by Rico Ocampo, Eugene Paul Ponio, Marcelo Valencia and Joaquin Manalac last December 2. The OSG, which represents the Sandiganbayan and Office of the Ombudsman in this case, has 10 days from receipt of notice to comply with the order.
