GMA NEWS: A division of the Court of Appeals has cleared former Palawan governor Joel Reyes of murder charges for the killing of environmentalist and broadcaster Gerardo "Gerry" Ortega in January 2011. The ruling came four months after Reyes's co-accused and brother - Coron Mayor Mario Reyes - was cleared by another appellate court. Both courts cited the Department of Justice's disregard of the rules of procedure" in handling its charges against the accused.
