Making matters worse here is that some Senators who are supposed to be the judges are assisting the prosecutors in their fishing expedition. The tenor of their questions certainly does not reflect the cold neutrality of an impartial judge. They seem to be more like prosecutors than judges. On the pretense of supposedly finding out the truth, they are actually trying to establish the guilt of Corona or at least create in the minds of the listening and viewing public the conclusion that Corona does not deserve to stay any minute longer as Supreme Court Chief Justice. Their questions may be objectionable but the defense can do nothing because the rules of the Impeachment Court do not allow them to object. Obviously the trial is prolonged even more because Senator-Judges are allowed to join the fray and freely pounce on any of the contending parties.
