- Kontra Daya's Renato Reyes says, Lanto's unseating as Congressman over electoral fraud in the 90's smears the credibility of the poll body. "Mas mainam kung ang appointed na commissioner ay di sangkot sa kontrobersya, lalo na sa election fraud," Reyes says. "Pero tila malakas ang backer ni Lanto mula sa LP. Inamin niyang si Sen. Drilon ang nag nominate sa kaniya. Dagdag na bahid ito sa kredibilidad ng Comelec," Reyes adds. Lanto was unseated as Lanao Del Norte Representative after the House of Representative Electoral Tribunal found him guilty of benefiting from poll fraud.
