PHILSTAR: SC reinstates sacked deputy ombudsman
In a decision released yesterday, all 14 SC justices UNANIMOUSLY RULED that the Office of the President was WRONG in ordering the dismissal of Gonzales based on the finding of gross neglect of duty and grave misconduct in office. "the OP's pronouncement of administrative accountability against petitioner and the imposition upon him of the corresponding penalty of dismissal must be REVERSED and set aside, as the findings of neglect of duty or misconduct in office do not amount to a betrayal of public trust," read the SC ruling.
