PEOPLE'S JOURNAL: Neri stands fast against testifying vs Gloria
FORMER Planning Sec. Romulo Neri refuses to testify in the trial of the graft case of his former boss, ex-pres Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, in connection with the NBN deal. In his appeal, Neri invoked his constitutional right to remain silent on the ground that he was named defendant in a separate graft case also arising from the NBN-ZTE deal. Defense lawyer Paul Lentejas said Neri cannot be compelled to testify against Arroyo as his case is related with that of the latter.
