BUSINESSWOLRD: NSCB: 3rd quarter SLOWDOWN seen
-ECONOMIC ACTIVITY appears to have slowed this quarter NSCB said on Friday as it reported a DIP in an index tracking 11 KEY indicators following four consecutive gains. The composite leading economic indicator (LEI) -- which provides a picture as to where the economy us headed in the near term -- slid to 0.146 for the third quarter from the second quarter's revised 0.206. 7 out of the 11 indicators tracked FELL: money supply, total merchandise imports, wholesale price index, visitor arrivals, hotel occupancy rate, number of new businesses and the consumer price index.
