BUSINESS WORLD: Growth still not fostering employment
- THE RANKS of the unemployed swelled in July, the National Statistics Office (NSO) yesterday reported, with strong economic growth still not translating into jobs. Latest Labor Force Survey results put the unemployment rate at 7.3%, up from 7% in the same month last year. This was equivalent to three million jobless Filipinos from 2.8 million a year earlier.
