PEOPLE'S JOURNAL: DISARMAMENT is a thorny issue that will hound the historic Framework Agreement between the Aquino govt and the MILF aimed at finally putting an end to the decades-old insurgency in Mindanao. In light of the statement of some MILF rebel officials that giving up their arms is IMPOSSIBLE since it is a "sign of surrender," the PNP and the AFP will be hard-pressed in its effort to collect unauthorized weapons currently in the hands of the guerrilla movements.
