MLA STANDARD: LP JUNKS PARTY ORIGS IN FAVOR OF WINNABLES
On Monday, a veteran politician who has been with the party for the past 40 years, and whose family had been affiliated for three generations, declared he would openly campaign for the rival UNA's senatorial candidates to protest the LP leadership's "crooked policy." Former Sen Victor Ziga, a member of the LP national exec committee, brought his son Ricky to VP Jejomar and former Pres Joseph Estrada's UNA for endorsement. "I am protesting the LP's distorted principle of junking the LP originals and tapping last-minute turncoats as official candidates nationwide," Ziga told the Manila Standard.
