TRIBUNE: According to UP economist Ben Diokno, the situation is actually worse that what what is being reflected in the surveys, because it would take a lot for Filipinos to admit that they are poor, considering the high level of misplaced pride among most of the poor. It doesn't need a survey even to deduce that Filipinos have become poorer under Noynoy. Consider the ever rising prices of basic commodities and services under Noynoy brought about which are all pro-business. Also notable are the thriving communities of street families who depend entirely on good graces and leftovers to get through daily.
