The reason for this impeachment are too obvious. There was no real intent to convincingly prove the charges raised against Corona since Noynoy is bent on removing him, convicted or not in the impeachment court, and the desired outcome is beyond booting out Corona but also to assure that the judiciary is also herded in line to follow the whims of Noynoy.
The adventure, however, may leave long-term damages in the institutions in the local judiciary which now holds that the executive will poke its nose every time Noynoy feels he is not getting what he wants in terms of judicial actions.
