- Net foreign direct investments in the Philippines dropped by 96 percent to $7 million in May from $195 million a year earlier, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas said in a statement Friday. The central bank noted the raging debt crisis in the Europe had a impact on foreign investments who would rather avoid global risk.
