- Comelec Chair. Sixto Brillantes rejected calls that he resign from his post over the purge of the partylist system. Brillantes maintained that the Comelec has a motu propio authority to review existing registrations, noting that groups have to file their manifestation to participate in each election. Brillantes and the rest of the commission will again deliberate on the fate of existing partylist groups and new partylist applicants on Wednesday.
