TRIBUNE: SOLON QUIZZES PALACE ON DORMANT P100-B FUND
- While the Palace aggressively pushes higher taxes on tobacco and alcohol, billions of pesos from the excise tax on sin products earmarked for the DOH and Philhealth have NOT been released to fund health services, Zam Rep. Mitos Magsaysay said yesterday. Magsaysay said she will seek an explanation from the DBM on the withheld funds. She said the failure of the DBM to release these funds to socially-relevant programs constitutes INEFFICIENCY and a clear case of DERELICTION of DUTY.
