- Enrile to prosecution: you should have alleged bribery; that is the tendency of the of the evidence you're presenting.
- Enrile to Tupas: I don't know how you learned your art of pleading, I don't fault you; if you're going to insist on your position, I will not change the ruling.
- Tupas Technicalities cannot be permitted in trial.
- Enrile: This is not a technicality; ground for impeachment clearly stated in constitution; we're already very liberal.
