PHILSTAR: PLUNDER CASE VS GMA JUNKED

A criminal complaint for plunder and graft against former Pres Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, former Philhealth head Francisco Duque III and 10 others former government officials was DISMISSED recently for lack of merit. They were charged before the Office of the Ombudsman for the alleged misuse of some P530 million in OWWA Medicare funds.
The anti-graft agency said the money reached the intended beneficiaries abroad. Also dismissed were charges of malversation of public funds, qualified  theft, and violation of the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.
