CJ Corona said that Pnoy had him impeached by the House Representatives because of his decision in the Hacienda Luisita case. That Pnoy wants to take out Corona so he can have the hacienda luisita reversed. Pnoy has never denied this. Over the weekend, the Sheriffs Confederation of the Philippines joined other groups in support of Corona.
"The pressures being exerted so that the courts, the third and co-equal branch of the government, know how to the wishes of the chief executive, first through the budget, then by verbal abuse, and now by impeachment, are very disheartening," the group said in a statement.
