- A female nominee for the position of chief justice has been accused of having an illicit affair with her driver who also doubles as her bodyguard. This alleged "immoral" relationship surfaced in a letter sent to the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC), which has the duty to conduct the screening and selection process for candidates for chief justice. The letter sender oppose the nomination of female nominee, saying that she should be disqualified for carrying on an affair with a married man.
