Tuwid Na Daan News: INQUIRER: PCSO execs BROKE bonus rule, says COA - Members of the board of PCSO received P4.53 million more in allowances, bonuses and other incentives than they should have in 2010, according to the Comm on Audit (COA). The COA said that from Sept. 8 to Dec. 31, 2010, PCSO directors continued to receive various monetary perks - including a P3,000 allowance for every day that they attended lotto draws - CONTRARY to Executive Order No. 7 issued by Pres B. Aquino, which suspended such allowances and incentives until new policies on compensation had been issued.

INQUIRER: Binay seeks cancellation of Delfin Lee's passport - Vice President Jejomar binay said that he would ask for the cancellation of Globe Asiatique owner Delfin Lee's passport if reports that he had left the country to evade arrest were confirmed. "If that's traced abroad, a request will be made to the host country to send him back. It's like having his passport cancelled."
STANDARD: Govt debts hits P5.147T - The outstanding debt of the national government rose P371 billion, or 7.8 percent, in May to P5.147 trillion from a year ago on higher local borrowings. The debt stock month-on-month rose 1.42 percent, or P72 billion, from 5.075 trillion in April. The government debt translates into each Filipino owing P54,758 based on a population of 94 million.
ANC: Atty Rico Paolo Quicho, formally files his opposition to the nomination for Chief Justice of Justice Sec. Leila De Lima. Quicho also seeks the inhibition of Chief House prosecutor Niel Tupas in the JBC's selection process. "De Lima does not posses the qualities of competence, integrity, probity, and independence as shown in the filing of a disbarment case against her. De Lima contributed to the removal of ex-CJ Corona. As for Rep. Tupas, Quicho says the congressman in tainted with politics. Quicho believes, Tupas can't be expected to act with integrity as a JBC member.
